  • After using the 2gb, can i use another sim card in this device, is it unlock?

    • They don't use a sim card so it's effectively locked to their network.

    • it's not lock, they already mentioned in their page "Flexible. Once you’ve used up your 2GB of bonus data, you can choose to go on to a month-to-month plan or pre-paid plan. Or not. You keep the modem, and there are no lock-in contracts, no strings attached."

      • Locked as in you can't use the device with another provider.

  • interesting coverage. Looking like it's running on the unwired network?

    • I'm pretty sure they are the same company

  • Limited coverage. So definitely check coverage before buy.
And they use Wimax so you can't use the dongle on another network.

    • +1 Guys double check coverage before you buy. 2224 Nsw is covered only in the water!???

    • True but Vivid have a pretty good return policy 'We offer a 14 day money back guarantee (MBG) if you cannot use our service due to poor coverage.'

  • Hi! Rep, How will i get the free shipping ?

    • That's a referral tag not a rep tag.

    • If you go through to checkout the device drops to $9 to compensate for the $10 delivery charge so $19 all up.

  • used their service. faster than 3G (but don't know if compared to telstra 4G now). no simcard, so cannot be unlocked.

  • JFI, Optus bought the the unwired/vivid wireless early last year to use the spectrum for 4G-LTE network so the WiMax network will be switched off sooner or later and these devices will be nothing more than a piece of junk. Other than that 2GB/$19 doesn't seem like a great deal.

  • Sounds unfair to people who grabbed it as a good bargain. See
    http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2008333

  • $1/gb postpaid, but Pre-paid still in a race w/ itself, $49 ultimately going nowhere.

  • I heard that the connection and speed are terrible in Bentley

    • Probably, how well it works is dependent on signal strenth and congestion,if you're one of the unlucky ones return it within 14 days and get your money back.I have two friends with Vivid now,one in greenwood and one in Claremont and no complaints last i heard.

My connection speed http://www.speedtest.net/result/2486758170.png not the greatest but for $75pm for unlimited it's pretty good value.

      • I feel sorry that all my friends are staying in Bentley.
Read the complants below, the service usually is good in the first month. my comments are
        1) don't stay in Bentley
        2) don't commit with the 12 month plan.
if you really want to use vivid

        • All valid points,i've been with Vivid for years and paid $149 for the USB modem so i could be on a month to month setup which i think made all the difference as it moved the balance of power back my way so they know i can leave at any time.where as if you get stuck on a contract for 12 or 24 months they can treat you however they want after the first month and you can do very little about it.

If you're in an area that doesn't have a history of poor performance with Vivid then it's worth a shot you may be pleasantly suprised, however if it's crap return the device within 14 days and get a full refund,if you're happy with the performance use up the 2GB then go on a month to month plan and get a month free if using a referrals email then if it goes to shit after that move to another provider.

        • $49/6gb, 30days;
          [8.16/gb] 2013.

        • The medium range data plans are pretty terrible value but if you're a minimal user the 2GB for $19pm is okay value but the unlimited plan for $79pm is outstanding value in my books.

        • mine books ~ 80/1Mbps*500gb

          {v 8/3Mbps*∞}, but I get you.
