My brother in law, Gub, must take the credit for this. I know it has been posted before: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/87529 but that deal expired.

  • Beware these are Region A, so only US/region free BR players will play them.

    • Thanks, updated

The Region B version from Amazon UK is $64.23 AUS delivered, which still beats the $115 JB have it for.

Also if you are not interested in the extended versions, Amazon UK have the normal theatrical versions for $25 AUS delivered too.

This deal is about $56 inc delivery - so not much of a difference

Aren't the blu rays region free, but not the DVD's?

      http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-Lord-of-the-Rings-The-Moti…

So a region free dvd player is what you need.

      • I can confirm the blu rays are region free. They worked on my Australian PS3. Dvds you will need a multi region like the poster above said.

    • I stand corrected. The Amazon.com page shows it as Region A, but all reports seem to indicate it is indeed region free.

I thought the original theatrical release was unnecessarily extended already !

  • really really good movies!

watching these movies made me realise how beautiful Newzealand can be.
and I travelled there just to check out the landscape.

  • An American once asked me whether there was roads in NZ. She'd seen the Lord of the Rings and noticed a distinct lack of roads.

I brought this from Amazing and the boxes were all broken, I was extremely disappointing but the movies were fine. They were all broken in the same spots for every DVD case and the Holder was broken as well. It is a good deal but be warned.

Did you contact Amazon? I've had DVD/Blu Cases arrive broken and Amazon pays for the return postage of the original item and sends out a new one for you

      • I once bought some blu rays, that got delivered to the wrong address! I only received it because the lady bothered to call up my company HQ in Sydney to get my number and call me to get my address in Adelaide! shocking, that was.

    • I still don't see why you negged the deal when you said it's a good deal ??

    • brought?

  • I was going to mention it comes with digital copies, but now I'm not so sure. The copy I bought was this one:

    http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0026L7H20/

You might not care, but worth checking just in case. The (SD) digital copies were supposed to have expired June 26, 2012, but I successfully redeemed them (US iTunes account) last December.

Edit: Well, according to blu-ray.com, maybe it still comes with digital copies.
