At half price it might actually be worth it for anyone who can't walk into a supermarket and buy it for cheaper…

    Hi,
Please read the ALL the Terms and Conditions carefully.
    http://www.aussiefarmers.com.au/global/docs/TermsAndConditio…

    NOTE

    ONE offer per household only.
NEW customers in a serviceable area.
YOU will need to provide Banking or Credit Card Details to validate this offer.
PRICES may vary dependent on weekly fluctuations of food prices.

MAY NOT BE USED IN CONJUNTION WITH ANY OTHER OFFER.

    P.S.
I know it says "Couples" but I don't think you have to be and if you are great.
If you are single, I'm not offering to find you your significant other so you can "qualify" to be a couple.
If you are single and have a friend/roommate/housemate/neighbour but don't want to be a "couple" I won't
    tell. :+)

  • You'd think they could have done a little better than that. There is already a $10 credit on your 1st order on their front page, so you are only $3 better off.

    http://www.aussiefarmers.com.au/

Still, I'll probably give them a go.

i think $13 for a vegetable box delivered is cheap, cant get them anywhere near that price when i am

    • Yes, but they've got a $10 discount voucher on their front page which means you can get the same vegetable box for $16 anytime you want, so $13 isn't a massive discount here.

      • So if you can get it for $16 with an existing voucher I bet this box is worth around $8-10.

They always overprice, you just don't notice it if you don't compare.

        • Um, no. The existing voucher you refer to is a one-off for new customers. You simply don't get one every week. Also, it is per Household so you can't just sign up time after time.

There is no way for the product usually being sold at $26 delivered that it could be done for $8-10 Boxed, and as it is @ $13 it would be a loss-leader IMHO.

Sample contents (subject to availability and change) is:
          Included this week:
          3 x Apricots
          3 x Bananas
          4 x Nectarines–yellow
          3 x Peaches–yellow
          2 x Pears–green
          4 x Plums
          1 x Carrots–prepack (500g)
          1 x Celery (bunch)
          1 x Onion–brown
          1 x Sweet potato
          1 x Potatoes washed (1kg)
          1 x Tomatoes–Cherry(punnet)
          1 x Cucumber–Lebanese
          1 x Lettuce–salad mix (bag)

        • They should give an indication of the total net weight. If we assume a generous 5kg of total weight, for $13 it is only $2.6 a kilo. Considering the farmers are selling those directly, I don't think it would a loss-leader. At times, we can get most of the products at less than $2 a kilo in supermarkets.

        • Hi, Just out of interest I measured the interior dimensions of the box and I got:
          37cm (Length)
          26cm (Width)
          20cm (Depth)
Next time I get one I'll weigh it!

        • Doesn't look worth it to me.

      • No, the $10 discount voucher you speak of is one per household to new customers as a one off. Read the find print.
That said, $13 is still better than $16 (or $26).

Heres some information about my families experiences with this company:
They sometimes deliver at 2am - 6am in the morning, and disturbs you during the night when you sleep.
They sometimes came a few days late on orders
They said they will deliver newspapers to us, but for some reason, they've stopped delivering them with us.
$26 is fairly costly for what you receive.

Keep in mind we had a subscription with them though.

thats just strange. i would set the dogs on them (if they came to my place at 2am)

    • Hi,

My experience with delivery of Bread and Milk etc, is delivery into a Chiller/Fridge Bag in the early hours, so my Milk and Cream and Cheese is still cold when I get up.
I don't think those hours apply with the Greengrocer side of things.
When I have got Fruit and Veg it comes about 4.30pm-5pm Weekday. Of course this may vary on district.

If you become an ongoing customer you have to check a future online order is in on time, so I'd encourage you to follow up any problems with delays with them.

I wish they would do Newspapers where I am, but there is still a Newsagent in my area.

The offer for $13 delivered makes is it look attractive.

Thanks for your comments and experiences.

after I registered with the website yet didnt make an order even though it was a free $20 voucher, I got called every third day for like 3 weeks when I sleep, be prepared for low level phone stalking from these guys if you dont process an order

      • You can always send them an E-mail at [email protected] or phone them on 1300 645 562, maybe they don't know when you sleep.

I have found with them I get the occasional SMS to remind me if I want to order or if it is hot weather to remind me to put the Ice Block into the Chiller Bag, so I find that of help.

We started off getting the fruit and veg, but then decided that it was too much/too much stuff we didn't use/we wanted other stuff, so now we just get bread and milk delivered.

It gets delivered on wednesdays and saturdays (tho depend on your area), roughly ~1-3am ish, we've never had any issues with being disturbed, in fact in the few years that we've been getting it i've never actually heard or seen them. We leave a freezer bag and milk crate sitting ontop of our letter box and there's never been any drama.

The milk is vastly superior (in my mind) to the crap you get at coles/woolies, it just tastes significantly better.

Sure it's more expensive, but the convenience plus quality makes up for it.IMO if you can afford it, highly recommended.

Is it actually special milk like you can buy at specialty shops?

I bet this is just regular milk from the same production line with a new label on it like 99% of milk out there.

      • -1

The main bonus is the Farmers get a better sustainable price and that the milk is not having Permeate added.
        See: http://www.aussiefarmers.com.au/products/milkman/milk.php

        • -1

          Are you serious…

All milk is basically Permeate free. Do you know why?

Generic brands had no choice because the whole production line was switched to Permeate free.

have you not been in a supermarket for a long time?

Don't listen to their garbage, even if it was true that farmers get a better price, they are taking a huge cut of your higher price to profit their business. Donating to farmers is likely 500% more efficient.

Aussie Farmers Direct: Reduced Fat Lite Milk 2L Permeate free $3.79
Elsewhere Reduced Fat Lite Milk 2L Permeate free: $1.99

$1.79 more expensive and likely only 10 cents extra goes to aussie farmers direct if anything (there is no evidence they get anything more)

Everything they sell is a rip off.

  • would be nice if they have a pick up model… so i can just pop by and grab the whole lot of stuff I wanted w/o wasting time doing grocery shopping.

    • I agree! I know some Supermarkets are trying with their own pre-orders at select locations. If Aussie Farmers (or others) could have a way you could select a Time Block you would collect a prepaid order from a Refrigerated Box with a PIN Code say 5am-9am, 11-2pm, 4-8pm, something like that?

I can't see a Supermarket in this sort of Joint Venture as it is just digging a hole for them though.

I saw a Bus Shelter decked out with Bar Codes in SA the other day so you could snap a photo of the staple items and pick them up at a Supermarket nearer to home, so it is even starting to happen here slowly. Been going interstate and overseas for a while now.

Is this $13 offer only for one-time delivery, or every week?

    • Is this $13 offer only for one-time delivery

      Yes.

  • My co-worker got a free voucher for them so she made an order. And all the stuff was about 1-2weeks old some of it was even moldy and they will add your number to their spam list so be careful i guess.

    • I'm surprised by that, same company was it?
This offer is in Qld, so was your friends delivery in Qld?
Did she contact the company about the product issues?
I don't really see how it is a spam list when they tell you up front what the Privacy Policy is.
      I guess peoples experiences vary.

For the most part, I'm just getting Bread, Milk and Cheese, so not much downside for most of my orders.

I tried Aussie farmers direct once approximately 2 years ago, to get some food delivered. The food and service was fine, but not really for me, so I never ordered from them again. After about a year they started sending me weekly email spam, and the 'Unsubscribe' button in the email didn't work. I contacted customer support and they canceled my account, which stopped the emails. Recently they have started calling my mobile phone several times a day during business hours, not leaving a message, and hanging up as soon as I answer. Several other people on the internet have reported similar mobile phone 'spam'. If you value your personal information and privacy, I recommend steering well clear of Aussie Farmers Direct.

Spam email and calls to mobile phone. Very unhappy.

But you are correct she was in WA and it was only fruit and veg so the other items are probably fine :)

        • There is always the Telecommunication Industry Ombudsman… Looks like there are a few complaints but it is good to see that they now have the productreview.com.au page being actively monitored by Aussie Farmers Direct representatives.
