something something 7-inch
something something venus quad core
Did you hear about the Ainol that lasted a full year without breaking down?
Neither did I
mine is just fine, including frequent uni use
as are many others
mine is used 8 hours a day and it is just over a year old and still working well.
only 1 year old?? thats waaay illegal
Have you ever actually owned any of the Ainol tablets? Just in case you haven't, I've generally not found many people post good experiences with gadgets, only poor experiences…
No different to jokes about Great Wall cars, really.
Not really into Ainol. I prefer Asus Nexus 7
Not sure about this vendor but if you google lightake coupon, there appears to be many 5% off coupon codes.
Cheaper at buyincoins.com for $138.46 using 7% off coupon 7ALLSITE.
I cant see to find any reliable reviews out there. All i can understand so far is that the GPU choice was unusual and its quad core processor is weaker than the Google nexus 7's which really doesn't make sense since its a 1.3 ghz versus a 1.5 unless the base clock speed of all four cores is lower than 1.3ghz.
I'm mostly interested in battery life and custom rom support. The model is very new so most places haven't had the chance to review yet.
Anyone got this? Are there obvious flaws (compared to a Nexus for example)?
I bought a Chinese PHONE and it's alright, but quite heavy, GPS doesn't connect well and the camera is not really good.
So now that it's time for me to buy a tablet, I wonder if these cheaper ones are alright or in other words what will be the drawbacks here.
If you want a good/decent tablet, get the Nexus. Only get this if you happy/prepared to do a fair amount of fiddling to keep it going.
No questions that the Nexus has better build quality, but what do you mean 'fiddling' with the Ainol?
what do you mean 'fiddling' with the Ainol?
Think about it for a second…
get smth from CUBE brand, outstanding quality for that price
smth? Don't seem to be any CUBEs on OB atm… :(

What is funny about that?
People who say LOL inappropriately freak me out. Makes them sound mentally unhinged… … … LOL!
If you SAY "LOL" it is inappropriate full stop.
The abbreviation was NEVER meant to be said out aloud, and only ever be typed as text…. If I hear someone actually say "LOL" or "ROFL" out aloud, I usually answer them with …. "Well .. Go on then …..do it".
says LOL out loud (SLOL)
Ainol on the very first attempt. Sounds like a good score. LOL
He means "Lots of Love" to all us OzBargainers
He ment LYL (Love You Lots)
Or in the Ainol Filosophy, LEO Love Each Other
That is what i meant LoL! :)
I've already ordered one locally in Aus for $170 delivered
Will have a squiz at it then
From where Noonoo?
The seller is actually a active member on whirlpool
He literally got them in yesterday and sent mine out first thing this morning
What name does he go by on WP Noonoo please?
His name is Jubal1
You can contact him on there or use his support page
He replied like within half an hour and answered all my messages
Thanks
a lot of things wrong with these…
no BT
no GPS
act7029 quad is supposedly 4 x A5 cores
gc1000 is a slow gpu
plastic casing everywhere
I guess it depends on what you want it for.
I'm going to use it primarily as a ereader, something to read digital comics, occassional browsing on net, movies and tv etc etc
Its more of an on the go device when i'm on a flight or in transit somewhere
I have no need for the bluetooth or GPS, its not a major concern for me. I have my S3 for those things.
The big plus for me was the microSD capability as well. For the sake i can swap and change when i want to watch a particular movie, book, music etc etc. Yes you can have the same with an OTG cable on something like the Nexus 7 but damn it looks unsightly
If you are looking to replace an existing GPS with this unit, of course look elsewhere.
If you want something for mobile gaming .. from the benchmarks it does ok in that regard. 3D games apparently perform fine depending obviously on support given by the game dev.
No its not going to be blazingly fast for mobile gaming, but really if thats what you wanted .. i'm sure people would have gone for a better option like the Nexus 7 or a proper gaming device like a DS or VITA
The plastic casing i think it's suppossed to mimic the Nexus 7 of course. I think it takes a compliment to ASUS/GOOGLE
I'll get a better feel for it once i get it in my hands later this afternoon or tomorrow morning and have had a good play with it.
Accidentally plussed your comment, sorry.
Venus listed as having BT…
http://androtechno.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPat…
But strangley, not in store…
http://www.ainolstore.com/ainol-novo7-venus.html
I can't say whether it has BT or not until i have it in my hands. It wasnt a big concern for me
I liked the look of it and needed something for my trip overseas on Saturday for work
I was going to purchase the Hero II but since seeing the Ainol Captain i decided to wait till more information on it comes out for a 10" tablet
EDIT
From this quick thread appears there is no BT
Copy that…
Exprired…
Here we go with Ainol jokes again
