30

Hey all,

Found these rebrands while I was looking for a set of the HM5's. Don't know what the quality is like but I imagine them to be quite good. Thinking about getting a set and I thought I'd spread the word :)

Mod: Changed from Jaycar US site to Jaycar AUS. Jaycar US does not ship to Australia.

Would need a freight service since you're looking at american site.?

    • You're absolutely right and theres no way to get them to ship to Australia D:. Deal may be bogus unless Jaycar stores stock them….

    It's also $50…

  • $99 from the .au site, maybe change the deal to this as it's still cheaper than the branded item but do note the RRP is also $99 which most will say is not a deal.

Also available here. I believe this is the lowest price.

  • I bought one from usa few months ago for $99. Not happy with them. Bass is very weak. And if you have small ears they are not for you.

    • I've been looking at these for a while (but haven't bought yet). Apparently they are capable of good bass with eq or amp, but don't naturally deliver a lot. A good thing for a lot of people (the kind of ppl that don't like Beats / Monster). I'm still interested in trying them, but I don't think they are worth the price tag at the moment. PM me if you are looking to offload yours for the us jaycar price!

Unless you can find a company to forward them on for less than $30 then this isn't a deal.

    • Agreed.

    • *$20 even.

Or about $80 shipped if you know someone with an Electus account.

  • For $100 you can get HM5 from brainwavs if you wait for a deal (comes with better case and accessories).

  • I saw these on special for $80 in store at Jaycar Fyshwick two weeks before Christmas.

The store person opened up the box and let me plug my iPod into them. Not sure if this headphone needs wearing in but I found that the sound is a little dull and cave like. I could distinguish different instruments and sounds but each individual sound was expressed kind of dull. Plus the frequency range wasn't extraordinary, the treble extends up high but the bass doesn't go very low.

The best thing is comfort. Its hard to find a more comfortable headphone for its huge size and light weight.

The sales person pushed very hard to sell the noise cancelling headphones at same price but I found that its frequency range is pretty bad.

Would recommend to bring in your own music and try the headphones before buying. At $80 its good value for a full sized can. Its just that I'm looking for different sounding headphones and had auditioned more expensive headphones at Harvey Norman and JB Hifi.

  • These are monitors, not fun cans. They don't have thumping bass. They don't have a lot of high's, monitors dont do these things.
I have a set of the HM5's, great cans for a real, neutral sound, but they need a little tweaking and a good amp.
    Not for bassheads.

I paid <$90 for these with a discount code from MP4nation on sale 8 days ago, great monitors for the price, come with 2 cables (1m, 3m) extra pads, etc. The jaycars I understand come with 1 cable, 1 set of pads and the pads are different. Also the same / very similar to the Fisher FA-003's. Cans were originally made by a company called Yoga who offer their product to be branded then retailed.
