If you don't need the 4G or larger screen, the 620 is a very nice alternative for around $100 less. Although, when you look at what $100 gets you, it's not all that unreasonable to consider the 820 over the 620..
I was thinking of getting a 620 for someone who had an LG E700 WP7.8 device. I got the LG for her, for $174, about one year ago. Other than having the windows phone 8 OS and some exclusive apps, the hardware on the Nokia 620 is the same or worse.

You could hardly get in Nokia's in stock until recently. Is eased a bit now.

Someone over at Whirlpool managed to use the code to get the device for $399 at JB HiFi via price match. But JB HiFi still wanted to charge him GST ON THE $399. Still a great deal for Aussie stock with 24 months warranty IMO.

Nice deal on the 820, only thing is import stock not local (1Yr warranty vs 2 Year local one)
However local is around $550
