Yeah, this might be shit if you encounter a 32A single phase charger at 7kW, which are extremely common.
$109 for the 22kW on this page, I'd go that.
Oh right, yeah I meant Tesla. Not sure if these are worth given most of chargers have cables.
Most public chargers don't have cables, you need to BYO. A lot will be 32A single phase @ 7kW which this cable won't do. It should only do 3.5kW on this charger. If you find a more rare 11kW 16A 3 phase, it would be fine for a Tesla, but it would be better to pay a bit more and carry the more versatile cable. I edited my comment because it was incorrect but you might have replied in that time.
What's the normal price?
Usually above $100
Yeah it's cheap, but its almost certainly a bad buy.
If your car maxes out at 7kw (BYD for example), then you will only be able to get ~3.5kw out of this cable.
If your car maxes out at 11kw (Tesla for example), then this cable will indeed give you full speed on 3 phase, but single phase (which is fairly common) will only give you ~3.5kw.Some of us still rocking cars that max out at 3.5kw… but probably have a cable by now.
Yep, I made the mistake of buying a 11kW cable. Gave it away as it's mostly useless.
Should only buy this cable if you have an 11kw-capped car AND know that you will never plug it into single phase (as explained by others above). If you only ever plug it into 3 phase (and your car charges at 11kw), then this cable will be fine.
eg. If you have an untethered 3-phase unit at home, and would be using this cable exclusively at home (to effectively make it tethered, but with replaceable cable) - in that sense, it would be a cost effective replaceable "tethered" cable.
3-phase, 32A, 22kW and 5 metres is the standard. Get one from a reputable brand.
i would rather go with 22kw
