Got it then.. this is just $10 more…
30% increase in price. No deal.
Yup. I got 2 at the cheaper price. This doesn't seem like a great deal/
Not a valid vote - refer to current lower priced deals.
If this was valid we would see all Dominos Pizza deals down voted for the same reason.
http://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:voting_guidelines
BTW make the comment alert people to this higher than last time price like curiosity did, but voting it down doesnt let people decide, and if they missed that one, they might still decide this one suits.
I voted negative because I do not think its the cheapest available.
As sasquire says there are better ones cheaper at Bunnings.
Yes I have read the guidelines
Then simply put, if you said it was cheaper AT bunnings your vote would have stood.
sasquire said that after your post
Yes he said that after my post. but I didn't vote when I posted. I dont know if you can tell or not. But I only voted after I read his post and thought this is not a good deal!!
2 things
Your vote 5 Jan 13:24
his comment 5 Jan 13:50
But lets say the system is wrong (which maybe)
The guidelines state that you need to explain why you voted, as mods we cant be guessing why nor can anyone else. So if you edited your comment when you voted to simply say "cheaper at bunnings like sasquire says" or something like that.
This is in the guidelines.
NOTE the mods look at your first comment about why you voted negative, they don't go through all the comments you make, so if you are adding to the reason you voted you must add these to your first comment.
Hope that helps you understand.
Yes but I am under the impression that your vote is linked to your first post. pretty sure I read that somewhere. And if someone reply to your post you cant edit it.
Also in the guidelines it says
Current Status of Negative votes April 2012
Where it says "Currently, (individual) negative votes are not actively being removed by moderators. Moderators are tending to let the community revoke a negative vote."
Might be an idea to update that
Thanks
I'll alert others to the non edit ability. As for the active comment, its generally dependent upon a complaint, rather than mods just checking each negative vote, might be better to reword.
Last time was free shipping too, for the 8 way surge board. With $10 shipping, unfortunately can't say it's a good deal.
see comment above.
That's fine. But to be fair, the delivery price makes it $39. That brings it to the same price category as many other 8 way surge protectors, and a quick google show even the click and collect is more expensive than some of the places that offer free shipping such as:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/8-Way-Surge-Protection-Power-Boar…
or reduced cost and same shipping such as:
http://www.estore.com.au/product/PBD0002?utm_source=myshoppi…
It's much better to see Ozbargain is more 'Modded' than less, so I don't mind the intervention. But in this case maybe the revoke of negs maybe a bit too much?
My thoughts completely. Nice to see Mods around so no criticising here.
Agree,
but
To some extent but you are also comparing different products.
Delivery vs pick up make the price a little different
If you knew this when you voted, then you should advise, that way the vote would have stayed. Its not our job as mods to say…..
"oh this person voted this down. Now why did they do this? They have said "I got 2 cheaper" Now do they mean at the last deal?"
" oh its the last deal and after looking at the deal its expired, So I guess since that's not a valid reason he must mean something else"
" I'll just check ebay/google. But they are different brands. Simple, I'll just check the specs as well"
"Yes dear I know dinner has been on the table for the last 1/2 hour" :)
This is a place where someone has gone to the trouble to post a deal for others to share in. Is it too much trouble for those who want to criticise the deal (Fairly or not) to at least share, a little detail on why they dont consider it to be a deal? Then we all benefit from the sharing.
Just some points to ponder. ;)
Yes it was cheaper but its not that price now so if you need one(like I did last week) its a good price.
I didn't post it myself as I figured it would just get negged due to the last price they had.
Correct, sorry that some misunderstand how the neg vote works, and fail to read the guidelines.
My local Bunnings are selling a 7-way surge protector for $19.90.
It also had the new power saving feature where you turn off your tv, four of the other connections power down. Two of the connections were permanent (eg stayed on).
Just in case anyone was interested ;)
These sound great. I use them also when the Vic government gave them away
Great deal, thanks!
For anyone in Brisbane, this seems to be in stock at every store. Toombul has 20+ of them. I don't know why, but the DSE website has this item listed twice, and if you use "check store stock" on the other one it'll say out of stock. The link on this deal is the correct one.
