nbn Churning Question (New User)

Hi OzB nbn experts,

I am a newbie to the world of churning and was wondering when ISP states "new customer" promotions, is it like telcos that as long as you are porting a new number (not recharging), you are considered a new customer?

Or is it the first time that your address is connected with that particular ISP?

Thanks

    Churning

Are you still on ADSL ?

  • Depends on ISP I think.

    See https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/872786 for inspiration.

you'll have to refer to T&C on each as they can be different from one another

  • no point churning unless your current ISP cannot match the deal.

  • Are you referring to nbn churning or mobile number churning?

    Title says

    nbn Churning

but description seems to say another

porting a new number (not recharging)

There is no churning on NBN.

You'll still be on NBN after changing ISPs…

      • If I changed to starlink or 5g would that be true?

        • Neither support churning.

          Rapid transfers were for ADSL.

          • @jv: But you said

You'll still be on NBN after changing ISPs…

            I never mentioned churning

    • The reference to mobile numbers was an analogy. Note the use of "like".

      is it like telcos…

  • Or is it the first time that your address is connected with that particular ISP?

    Did you ask your telco?

    • It'll definitely be in the T&Cs
