Prorack Roof Pod 360L $229, 300L Roof Bag $30 @ Repco

60

Saw this in the repco catalogue Prorack Roof Pod 360L $229, I just bought one and it comes with universal ubolts that fit multiple different roof racks.

They had over 12 of these in the Maroochydore store 300L Roof Bag $30 - http://upload.ozbargain.com/2013/01/03/10335_image.jpg

  • Any ideas about its dimensions? Need to figure out if it'll fit under the carport.

    Just did a rough measure. L 150cm x W 90cm x H 40cm

    • Thanks.

      • +2

        I just saw the dimensions in the box. L 148cm x W 88cm x H 37cm

        • Is the pod lockable?

        • +1

Yes. Only one lock with two keys

  • I notice the ad has this as a 'set', do I assume it doesn't include the accessories. If it doesn't, how is this a set?

    • It is just the box with fitting ubolts and nuts. Not sure what they mean by set

  • I assume the bag is just a bag - and not the cage underneath as well?

    • Yeah it's just the bag. It comes with tie downs and pretty sure it said it was waterproof

  • They've also got 2x Vehicle Positioning Jacks for $199 in their catalogue - absolute bargain considering they sell for $200 each at most places. Super Cheap had them on sale for $129 each before Christmas.

However, on the first morning of the catalogue, went to two stores to be told none of their stores in SA had them in stock to begin with (except St Marys who sold their 4 within five minutes), and there were none at their 'warehouse', or none on order. Not a fan of Repco at the moment.

Just got price matched at Super Cheap Auto and going to pick them up (this, $49 fitting kit and roof rack).

The Whispbar roof racks are pretty cheap too at $225 a set!

    • How much did you get the Pod, fitting kit, and roof rack in total? $229 or $274?

Can you upload your Super Cheap Auto receipt?

      • +1

All three items for $503, no way would they do it that cheap! (Unless you're a professional)

        Roof Rack (S16) - $225 ($310.00 at Supercheap)
        http://www.lasoo.com.au/offer/prorack-whispbar/4t40swjxi.htm…
        Roof Pod 360L (EXP3) - $229 ($???.?? at Supercheap)
        Fitting Kit (K301) - $ 49 ($ 50.99 at Supercheap)

        All matching Repco catalogue

Also weighed up the 20% off tomorrow and it can't come close to this price.

    • Will it be cheaper to price match Repco price or wait til tomorrow's 20% off sale at Super Cheap?

  • I had one of these and it never sealed properly, took it back and the other one they had was even worse. I kept it but when it rains things get very wet, YMMV..

  • Hi all, my first post here :-)
I went into Repco today (Joondalup, WA) to pick up one of these (thankyou for the heads up) and they actually had the larger 425L Exploro4 (EXP4) on sale a bit cheaper at $225.00, so I grabbed one of those instead. It looks a bit better than the 360L one and has an improved roof rack attaching mechanism.

I found a link to the full ProRack range if you want to see the differences http://www.whispbar.com.au/downloads/prorack-full-product-ra….

Interested in getting a roof pod myself and spotted this other deal at OurDeal (http://www.ourdeal.com.au/deal/norde-euro-450-litre-roof-lug…). Comments anyone on which is better?

    • I actually wasn't a big fan of the EXP 3 when I saw it, seemed a bit flimsy and I wasn't a fan of the plastic struts, looked destined to break.

I ended up going with the EXP2, slightly bigger model, more durable plastic and gas struts.
      1450 x 900 x 400mm external dimensions, 360L

Ended up getting it for $343.20 and very happy with it. Fits our double pram just (so don't think the EXP3 would have fit).

That looks all right on Ourdeal if you pick it up, but even for something that big to be delivered is pretty cheap. I'd go for it.
      173 x 81 x 41cm - pretty big!
      75kg max load - Good!

Just make sure it will fit your roof racks (think it fits most standard and aero from what I read)
