  • $120.00 Sale price$336.00

    Dodgy price comparisons again…

Comparing a dozen to the individual prices…

A bit like Dan Murphy claiming a slab of VB "Was $143.76" ($5.99 each) 🤣🤣🤣

    • -1

Are you alleging OP from deceptive and misleading conduct? How could you, JV.

    • -3

Oh JV you've done it (incorrectly) again.

        • -1

It is okay. This will give ACCC something to do.

Dan's competition lawyer might have told them not to advertise in such a way (and they don't)?

This criticism has been raised on previous posts, despite there being 340 posts over the past eight years. This matter has already been addressed here:

    The advice remains the same:
    1. Report each post to the OzBargain Moderators.
    2. Report it to the ACCC: False or Misleading Claims.
    3. Report it to Consumer & Business Services, South Australian Government: Solving a Problem.

    Cheers! RD :-)

      There. Link provided.

Why bother with fair trading as they do not administer competition law, and media will give better marketing opportunities.

      You are welcome, Mr Hardy.

    • What about some TikkityTik shame shame shame dance moves?

      • -1

@jv you have a new challenge.

And no, you can't use MSN Messenger for this challenge.

    • I was just going to report you straight to the ASIO counter terrorism team for selling weapons of mass-inebriation online and get you deported.

      • +1

hahahaha. Glad I'm already out of the country. I've fled prior to the big media exposé in The Tiser ;-)

    • +2

For transparency. It appears that the report made to the moderators over the accuracy of the "title / description / category" has been resolved without any amendment to content.

Always happy to buy BEC HARDY and always happy for RD to post / advertise as I have never had a bad wine from Bec Hardy. if you don't want a deal then just move on. I don't always buy or need as I have enough but will take a deal when needed, so I am happy that he regularly posts as that is how OZB survives! thanks for posting RD!

PS. I disregard some of the fluff, no disrespect RD. I prefer it says something towards it being a good wine and why, rather than an empty post with just a price.

    • -2

Yes, possibly great wine and decent pricing. The RRP BS is nonsense.

      • Isn't all RRP?? when have you ever believed RRP?

        • -2

I don't, hence the nonsense is called out.

          You do?

          • -1

@Flutterby: Absolutely, just the same as trump & trumpet are gonna fix the world!

            • -1

@MMM: Good. Glad that you agree it is shonky.

"buy BEC HARDY", she's married, move on.

              • @Flutterby: yea but makes me feel warm inside … I got 64% off! just disregard and you will live longer :) to me its no bigge

        • Isn't all RRP?? when have you ever believed RRP?

Thus why we call it out on OzBargain…

This is more than that though… Comparing buying a dozen to the single bottle price. Even Dan Murphy doesn't do that…

          I got 64% off!

Nah, you didn't… You got sucked in if that's why you bought it…….

          • @jv: I gave you more credit JV, but Woooshh! …disregard RRP, is $10/bott a good price? yes by my books, does RRP matter to the astute OZB? nah! call it out and waste your breath, by all means!! :)

            • @MMM:

              is $10/bott a good price

It's not $10 per bottle though, in the same way as a VB stubby at Dan Murphy's is not $2.37… It's $5.99 (plus delivery)

              • @jv: $120/12 =$10.00

                Good old fashioned maths.

                And the moderators concur.

                • @RD ADL:

                  Good old fashioned maths.

You can't buy one bottle though for $10, so the price is $120 per dozen, not $10 per bottle.

                  And the moderators concur.

                  Doubt it…

                  • @jv: I can absolutely set-up a page or provide you with a discount code to buy one bottle for $10. You'll just have to pay the $20 for shipping it.

Or we can amend the decsription to "$120 per dozen. RRP $336."

And yes, the moderators did concur because after a report they refused to amend the post.

                    • @RD ADL:

I can absolutely set-up a page or provide you with a discount code to buy one bottle for $10.

But you haven't. So that is not the price. It is misleading… You can only purchase a dozen for $120.

                      the moderators did concur

                      Nope…

                      • @jv: Admit it, you're just annoyed that when people like RD ship you a box of wine it comes in pesky bottles, when you can just head to Dan's and get your usual box of Berri Estate for $20

                        • @dav3:

head to Dan's and get your usual box of Berri Estate for $20

                          Whatever floats your boat…

These definitely are not $10 per bottle, so the title is misleading…

                          • @jv: So report the title as misleading and let the moderators decide - again.

                      • @jv: A report was made over "Title / Description / Category". The moderators left the post as is. As they have using the same format over 340 posts for 8 years and countless other posts from other postsers such as Skye Cellars, Dozen Deals, Cellar One et al.

If you do not believe that, report it again and let the moderators review it again.

And yes, you can only purchase a dozen for $120 including delivery. The RRP of that dozen is $336.

                        • @RD ADL:

A report was made over "Title / Description / Category"

And what was the content of that report ???

                          • @jv: As you would know that's not available to me. But again, report the post as you see fit and let the moderators decide.

                            The advice remains the same:

                            28 x 12 = $336.

I don't need your advice. The title is clearly misleading and has already been pointed out…

That is why there is a comments section in each 'deal'. It is not just for fanboys and sockpuppets… It's for everyone else too…

                                  • @jv: Ok, now you have two reports you can make.

                                    1. Sockpuppeting.
                                    2. Misleading Title/Descrption/Category.

You don't because the moderators will find no evidence of such.

                              • @jv: You're really not intellectually qualified to argue about simple maths.

How's your lawsuit against Coles/Woolworths going for advertising pricing per sheet for toilet paper?

                                • @dav3:

And also at cellar door. Nor is it the most expensive wine we make nor an unreasonable RRP for a wine of that nature i.e. Fruit from premium vineyards made in a joven style with modest oak.

If we are having the perennial RRP discussion, I'd suggest there are better examples of ridiculous RRPs we could be discussing.

Finally, there are many wine posts across the alcohol category over many years using the same pricing methodology, not least my eight years of posting here. It is for the moderators and the ACCC to determine. Over to them. :-)

          • @RD ADL:

there are many wine posts across the alcohol category over many years using the same pricing methodology, not least my eight years of posting here

Based on history, the ACCC and the media (e.g., The Advertiser) will be looking to make an example of the bigger wine sellers so expect a story to be run shortly

            • @freeb1e4me: Will watch out for it with interest. :-)

            • @freeb1e4me: "the bigger wine sellers". Sorry to say, they are not (yet).

          • @RD ADL: "the ACCC to determine"

They don't determine, they administer Australian competition law by litigating. The court as the judiciary arm interprets the law, of course counsel as their legal advocate.

Thanks @MMM for the feedback on the posts. :-)

Might as well go for a $120 RRP wine for $119.40 a dozen.
