I am reviewing our Streaming Subscription and it's doing my head in.
I checked the forum here on OzB and rather surprised that this question hasn't been asked yet. So here I am.
PS - I don't trust ChatGPT, or DeepSeek for this topic :-))
Cheers!

Onlyfins? I hear they have a huge variety of fish for all tastes.
Or possibly their sister site in New Zealand - OnlyFuns
He or she is talking about Onlyfans - dedicated to air movement devices of all kinds. Hand fans, ceiling fans, floor-standing vornados, it's all there.
Nah, OnlyFerns, for the discerning connoisseur of bushes from all angles
PlentyOfFish
Any Referral Code ? (⚆_⚆)(¬‿¬)
COOMERPARY
Onlyflans - I see you like your sweats with pastry.
Only being able to pick one option isn't very useful.
Anyway, wouldn't the best solution to be looking at what you watch? It seems daft to see what other people are doing.
I am reviewing our Streaming Subscription and it's doing my head in.
Good shows on all networks. Cycle through them each month. Subscribe and cancel immediately, you will only pay for a month. Next month choose another and repeat.

Interesting. Maybe I'll try this
I am another person who uses the month by month. Watch everything of interest then cancel, return in a few months when there is more stuff of interest.
If streaming companies ever try to stop this method of subscription then they will force many many people back to the old ways of obtaining stuff to watch,
I kinda have been doing this: Subscribing when there's Promotion.
But getting worn-out abit hence this Post.
Interesting strategy still. Thanks!
Using Netflix atm. But use aniwave or movies 2 watch and don't bother about movies anymore
Plex+arr
Me hearties
Shiver me timbers and YouTube.
A lot of YouTube lately.
I pay for YouTube premium pretty happily, its easily my most watched streaming service.
I do get it via Turkey for cheaper though, and also run iSponsorBlockTV in a docker container.
Any OzBargain type recommendations for a mini PC for the Plex?
OptiPlex SFF so you can add a 2nd HDD.
Just get a Nvidia Shield Pro. I have been using it for 6 years without any issues, and NAS and to run all the apps, I use 2 HD attached to a Raspberry PI. Poor man's setup, but rock solid lol
Deluge + Jellyfin
Youtube + uBlock Origin
This extension is no longer available because it doesn't follow best practices for Chrome extensions :(
Firefox!
i still have it on chrome. not sure how.
Not a fan of this platform. Too much porn!!!
WTF? How do you end up getting porn? unless you got the "whisparr" setup lol
Netflix, they seem to offer what we like so we stick with them!
Youtube, Crunchyroll (for the kids), Tidal
Just looked-up Tidal. Similar to Spotify?
Pretty much the same but the music is high bitrate flac.
Their software is pretty sht, very little covers/mixes of songs, mainly aimed at audiophiles who want to listen to track originals at the highest quality - if a high bitrate ones exists, some are HIFI not all.
Youtube,
Youtube Premium Lite coming soon to Australia. just a reminder for anyone that didn't know or forgot, it was announced like a week ago and said will be coming "in the next few weeks".
$8.99 a month. what you lose is offline video downloads in app, background playback (if you close the app or lock your device it pauses). and you get ads on music videos only. that's it.
When my family plan in Turkey stops working I may look into it
just a brief explanation for the music video ads from memory.
apparently when it's a creator/normal channel, youtube splits the revenue ad/creator/youtube. but for music it's different, the music company gets most of it and youtube gets almost nothing. so if youtube made the music videos ad free at the lower cost they will be losing money on the new Premium Lite service. that's how the guy in the video explained it anyway.
Must be a slow rollout? I've had premium lite for my mum for at least 6 months
yeah I'm not seeing the option yet. some accounts must have got it offered early for testing or something? 🤔
was officially announced around a week ago (I read the article when it said posted 4 days ago) and it said coming "in the next few weeks".
Crunchyroll (for the kids),
Why only for the kids?
Shhh. It's just for the kids…
Stremio is still pretty good
Never heard of them, will check thanks.
It's a 'free' service if you get my drift…
You will never go back to the paid services after this
torrentio + realdebrid is a truly seamless experience.
Didn't real debrid get shut down?
No, they only pinky swore that they will take piracy more seriously.
No, but it's a lot slower than it used to be.
Too many streaming services, expensive and lesser content compared to other countries. sticking to netflix and prime only..
Yes, I often think for a little country like Oz, we have far too many streaming services…. So much clutter!
Yea and and more streaming services are turning up like Chinese EVs.
VPN to spoof being in the US seems to work for Netflix to access more/better content.
Yes even India Netflix/ prime got much larger content and very cheap when compared to Australia.
Not keen on Bollywood soaps and films.
@tenpercent: Talking about hollywood content and you don’t have to pay to rent on many recent releases. Venom was available to stream on Netflix in jan. Many other examples too
@tenpercent: just sharing Netflix account and use surfshark to browse Netflix. Surprisingly prime worked too.
Paramount probably the only half decent one. Apple is fvcking appalling IMHO.
Just read Apple TV just had a $1Billion loss!
Cause most of their content is crap or messaging first, story second. But their audio and video quality is good and their production values are usually pretty good.
Did you get that from free-to-air that depend on click baiting low information people?
$1 billion to Apple is like saying you lost a 10cent coin. For reference they often have over $150billion USD cash on hand. All of our Aussie BANKS, combined, don’t have that much cash.
It depends on what you consider a loss and what you consider an investment. Apparently this operating loss is in line with estimates – sources within Apple have leaked that the company forecasts the service to cost $15b to $20b over the first decade of the service, after which they predict it will begin making a profit. Spending money to make money.
For comparison, Disney+ posted losses of $11.4b over the first four years it existed, and that's a trusted entertainment company with a huge library of beloved content they can leverage. Apple is the only streamer building out a library from scratch, so it's expected that it would take a while for the service to become profitable.
Apple TV has the least amount of content but most of it is top tier. Max in the US is great as it has a superb back catalogue from HBO. Will have to see what they do here.
Hmm. Looks like maybe i should keep it for now.
It is top tier, but it seems to be unprofitable to do so
Really? I have Paramount from a promo and I find their selection really lacking. What do you watch on there?
I just can't bring myself to give Paramount money after what they did to Halo
Plex + Stremio + Torrentio
Netflix (from Turkey gift cards)
Disney+ (from India vpn billing)
Prime (coz free shipping mainly)
Was using Youtube Premium from Turkey, not using SmartTube
Disney is with hotstar?
No just VPN when signed up
Is there anything on Disney you can't find with stremio?
Nope, but makes it easier for the family having it through the disney+ app
I disagree, there isn't much easier than having everything in one place. Family has adapted to Stremio very well and not even using Real Debrid. I pay for a couple of services but they have adapted so well they don't bother changing to the proper app anymore
@Jackson: Ever thought your family is different to my family…?
Also Stremio doesn't offer profiles afaik
Whats the difference between steamio and torrentio? Why do you need both?
Torrentio is a Stremio plugin which finds the torrents
@Pumpkin_rrr I removed the poll because you could only pick one streaming service and not multiple streaming services. The numbers wouldn't be accurate.
Many thanks for your reply.
May I ask whether this can be changed to multiple-selection please?
I tried but couldnt find it.
It'd be interesting to see the result from this Community…..
There is no poll option for multiple choice. Scotty (admin) said this in 2022.
I'll say "maybe, some day in the future, maybe…"

Ah ok thanks!
Have a great weekend!
Prime - only because it's there as a result of shopping.
Viki - best bang for buck, no discounts
Over Xmas - Netflix, 2 months.
Paramount - on that $45 deal but only Hubby watches it
Another one I've never heard of- Viki.
Can you install it on your Smart TV?
Absolutely. Currently watching it now, new CDrama just dropped.
Have to like Asian content though but if subtitles arent a bother (or you speak any of the languages), it's a good service for approx $75 pa.
Netflix Basic $12.99 pm
Amazon Prime India $28 py
Youtube Premium India $30 py
Nice to be able (savvy enough) to hook on Indian sources…
Netflick $12.99 is Ad-free? Any good?
Its add free, but no longer available. Using it for last 3 years
hi there, is it possible to still get a Youtube Premium India account? Thanks
yup, subscribe through your Apple India account
Only if you have a valid Indian credit or debit card else they will refuse the payment.
Does Prime India give you delivery benefits here?
nope!
You get to watch Prime Videos and listen to Amazon music. The contents are different to what is here in Australia and are also limited unless you use a VPN switched on to India. The shopping benefits are available only on amazon.co.in.
prime
Any chance you pay on top of the Delivery for Ad-free?
nah, tightass
I hate the ads on Amazon sooooo much. Furious
