    From 4PM

Reminder to screen record transaction, have a look at when tracking times out and set yourself a reminder to follow up

Begrudgingly I'll upvote, it's keeping my dietary-challenged cats pantry well stocked

  • +2

Like what OzBMater8911 said, screen record you doing the transaction, I had an experience with Cashrewards where they tried to deny me saying something about my cookies, I showed them screenshots and they were then happy to grant the cashback

    • +19

They weren’t happy, rather forced to..

    • happy legally had no reason not to.

      • there's a also a lot of reports where even screen records could not convince them. they are just calculating how likely it is you take them to small claims court as "cost of doing business".

    • +4

you are lucky - my cashback with Cashrewards worth $25 was declined because CR said the merchant didn’t attribute the sale to CashRewards, and stop responding further when I showed the proof of multiple screenshots showing my transaction was using CashRewards App!

it is the second time Cashrewards did that to me - don’t trust them anymore.

      • +1

100% had similar experience with Cash Rewards; will never bother with their promotions ever again.

I've not had any issues with ShopBack so far (fingers crossed); but I do screenshot my browser/cart while checking out. Might switch to screen-recording just to play it extra safe.

        • Yes agree - since TA left CashRewards, I feel it is going to “south”.

      • Agreed. Personally, I've never had an issue with Shopback (touch wood).

On the flipside, Cashrewards has burned me several times, so I rarely use it these days. I will only do so if the cashback is upsized, and Shopback's is minimal, and I'm making the purchase regardless of cashback (so not too p1$$ed when it falls through).

What's TopCashback like? Worthy as a secondary CB site?

        • yes TopCashback is much better than Cashrewards especially TA is with TCB - I trust TA!

  • Is this tonight or expired?

    • Not yet. 4pm to 10pm

      • 6hr deal. Too short she said.

  • +1

hardly worth it depends on what you buy. my item has already gone up 20$ in price. could just buy it direct from the store outside of ebay now for the same price i would have gotten it after this said discount

    • So, it's a false promotion/ad but ebay can get away with it by having some items not jacked. Feel bad for those who don't know it and those who have to keep busy to learn about it. Maybe slightly better than the ikea 250$ spend to get 10%, a casino tatic to push customers to spend more on something they don't need. Young adults targeted.

  • +3

Shopback can never be trusted. I made a single order from 3 different stores on ebay and cashback from 2 stores got tracked but not the one with more expensive purchase. How is that even possible?? Only possible with SB.

    • +1

Happened with me when i got a dyson. Came to about 140$. Never saw it

  • Ok who’s the mvp here with the search link on what is not part of the exclusions

    • +1

Follow the link on the second line on the OP

      • Not sure what I am missing, but clicking through those links only takes me to pages which have either store pages or broad categories of items, not a search of all the items?

  • +1

So I keep seeing bank bonuses. What the cheapest and easiest way to get on that gravy train?

    • Open an bank account. All but Westpac have unconditional no monthly fee. Only add the exact fund for purchase.

      • Only add the exact fund for purchase.

It used to be the case that you could pay most of the cost using gift cards, and then a small balance directly using your linked WP/BOM/STG/BSA card.
Will this still work for the bank bonus?

        • It worked for me months ago. I didn't do it recently.

  • Just to clarify, is it stacking 12% + OFF15%or20% + Bank10%?
And each of those have a cap of $20 except OFF20 is $300 cap?
Post description is a bit confusing.

    • Ya
Can you tell me which part is confusing?
Both the title and description seem to be pretty clear to me :)

      • Does bank bonus still work when using a different coupon?

    • The coupon offers 15% or 20% off ($300 max discount).
      Then there is a 12% cashback ($20 cap) + 10% bank cashback ($20 cap).
Cashback and coupon codes are different, and sometimes cashback is not eligible with coupon codes unless listed. The post is saying this particular coupon code is eligible.
Coupon codes are used on the website and offer an immediate discount off the total, whereas cashback is based on how much you paid excluding GST, delivery fees etc.

    • +1

Yes, it'd stack all. The problem with the OFF20 though, if you read that thread, there's hardly any item included. Even the original sellers on the offer link itself, none of them works with the code

  • Does anyone know if cashback is valid if an eBay seller sends an invoice? Still following process of opening eBay from shopback etc

  • $166.6666 x 12℅

    = $20

  • +3

Hey ShopBack Fam! 👋 Just a few extra details for you:

    • The $20 Cashback cap is per account, so make sure to keep that in mind when shopping!
    • You can stack this with the OFF15 or OFF20 codes, but any other codes won't be eligible for cashback.
    • Also, don't forget to use your Westpac, St George, Bank of Melbourne, or Bank SA cards to get an additional 10% bonus cashback (capped at $20 per account)!

Happy shopping and enjoy the extra savings! 😄🎉

    • Shame it won't stack with SNSMAR (ebay Plus)

    • are multiple transactions eligible?

    • +1

Is the $20 cashback cap separate to the additional bonus cashback cap of $20.
In other words, is the total available cashback $20 or $40 ?

      • Did anyone find out?

      • -1

Yep, the caps are separate! 🙌

You can get up to $20 from the standard cashback and another $20 from the bonus cashback if you hit both caps. So in total, you could get $40 cashback if you max them out! 🎉💰

        • So what’s happening with everyone that had their bank bonus tracked but the regular cashback has tracked as $0?

          • @Chickenleg: Same thing happened to me:

            1.) Westpac promotion tracked correctly
2.) Shopback cashbash shows as $0, even though I used the correct promotion code (OFF15).

Today I bought another product via Topcashback.com.au as my support request went unanswered.
They also don't have an option to raise a ticket about these $0 cashback issues, and their AI robot goes in circles.

            Not happy @gotyourback

Ebay order IDs from Shopback: 10070947608019 and 10075907321721
Ebay Order number from ebay portal: 19-12843-82672 and 21-12853-69948

Note that the purchase amount on the shopback website does not match the actual amount paid on ebay. It's like < 1% different for some strange reason on shopback page and may be the cause of the $0 amount tracked.

            • @ahara: I didn’t even use a code 😕. So it’s strange that my Westpac bonus tracked but the other tracked as 0.

  • The "Shop Now" link goes to the "deals" section of Ebay and not all of ebay. Is this limited to the deals section?

    • No, it’s for all items that’s on eBay

  • Took the risk and grabbed something for $200. Hopefully tracks easily! If so, great deal :)

  • Jabra Elite 85t $99 delivered at TGG ebay(ebay.com.au).

  • +1

Just gambled $343.. don't let me down SB!

    • has it tracked for you yet?

      • +1

It just tracked, but showing as $0 tracked. I used OFF20 and my purchase was eligible so there no reason for them to reject. It looks like it's being reviewed but I'm getting ready for a fight. Thankfully I screen recorded the transaction. My $20 bank bonus has tracked successfully..

        • Yeah mine as well. I didn't use any codes whatsoever, "normal" cashback tracked at $0. Bank bonus tracked at expected amount. Shopback says I can't open a claim until 28/03/2025.

  • ebays running REFB15 and this OFF15/20 at the same time. I believe OFF is covered but REFB is not which is a shame because I've been eyeing an ex-lease laptop :(

  • Is the upsized cashback limited to 1 txn per person?

    • Cap is per account. So should be able to do multiple transactions up till you've reached the cap.

  • +1

It's 10:30 aedt now right? so it's finished?

I'm in Brisbane hence the confusion.

    • The upsized cashback rate has finished but the bank bonus is still active.

  • Now we play the cashback waiting game…

  • +5

Anyone else's cashback track at $0?

    • Yup, I used OFF20 and my purchase was eligible so theres no reason for them to reject. It looks like it's being reviewed but I'm getting ready for a fight. Thankfully I screen recorded the transaction. My $20 bank bonus has tracked successfully..

    • +1

TripAdvisor tracked also as 0$ for me the other day. Something going on with S-back..

    • +1

Same. Hopefully they’ll all get fixed

    • Mine hasn’t tracked how long did it take for u

      • I ordered at 4pm and received notification it had tracked a bit after 10pm

        • +2

Mine tracked but only the bank bonus is showing an amount

          • @StarPlatinum: Yeah my Westpac bonus is only showing up so far too so hopefully pick up the regular cashback today

    • +1 here.

  • Ordered 7:55pm.
    Both amounts tracked at 5:16am.

  • +2

Bought a replacement battery. Bonus bank cashback is tracked properly but cashback from Shopback is tracked at 0. Didn’t use any codes, vouchers or anything. Used Westpac card (not PayPal). The order is confirmed. No modification or cancellation

    • Yeah me too, what’s the deal @gotyourback?

      • +1

@gotyourback this certainly isn't helping shopback's reputation. Every new ozb post will just be people linking to the previous post with a bunch of people complaining that things aren't tracking.

  • +4

I bought two water pressure hoses, but the cashback from Shopback has been tracked as 0. I didn’t use any codes, vouchers, or anything. The order is confirmed with no modifications or cancellations.

    • +4

Same as happened with me. Westpack bonus has been tracked but all shopback cashbacks tracked as 0.( I also didn't use any codes but only ebay giftcard with Westpack credit card)

      • bank bonus yes all tracked.
normal 12% only tracked on one item, hope SB won't add condition "only one transaction eligible" afterwards.

  • +3

    tracked at $0 here, too.
why can't you just track it right the first time…

  • +2

Normal track is 0, bank bonus tracked.

  • Same only Westpac bonus tracked. EBay tracked $0. No coupon or gift card used.

  • same here, all items tracked at $0, should be 12.5% for shopback plus.

  • +2

Same. Bank bonus tracked but not the 12%. Not used any coupon, voucher or gift card. Item was not in any excluded category. Cancelling my order now as it's not shipped yet

  • -3

    Expired before 9:30pm?

    • Wdym expired before 9:30pm? And what’s your reason for your neg? I can understand the neg if your cashback was tracked incorrectly, like the others in this thread, but you were 2 days late with your comment, and then with you just stating “expired before 9:30pm”
This deal was live until 10pm AEDT on 21 March, and the bank bonus was whole day

  • +1

same, didn't track, @gotyourback is this the same issue as last time? Would be good if you could provide an update for everyone.

  • +1

fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me…
Never again with SB+ebay, not worth the trouble

  • +8

    Hey everyone,

Really sorry to see so many of you facing this issue with your eBay Cashback tracking at $0. I totally get how frustrating this is, especially when everything was done right on your end. 😞

Just wanted to jump in and let you all know that this has been flagged to the team, and we’re actively investigating it as we speak. Rest assured, we’ll get to the bottom of this and make sure things are sorted out properly.

I appreciate your patience, and I’ll update you all as soon as I have more info. Thanks for sticking with us—we’ll make this right! 🙏💙

    • -1

My cashback was incorrectly tracked with compare the markets - wrong purchase amount, wrong cashback amount(instead of upsized $110 I got standard $50), very annoying to have to double check your tracking all the time.

      • We’ve received your DM and have just replied to you there 😊 We’re looking into this for you and will do our best to get it sorted ASAP! 💪

  • Thanks for the update, hopefully this gets resolved soon….

  • +1

Thank you for waiting for my response. I appreciate you taking the time to work together with me on this.

Your Cashback investigation for eBay……….. has been finalized by eBay, and we now have a response.

Unfortunately, ShopBack has been deemed ineligible for commission on this order, which means we won't have any Cashback to pass on. This is due to the unapproved usage of discount as stated in the eBay terms and conditions page.

    https://www.shopback.com.au/ebay-australia

    Image

When a merchant deems ShopBack ineligible for commission, we don’t receive any monetary payments which we would typically pass on as Cashback to our customers.

We understand that this isn't a desirable outcome, and we apologise for that.

If there is anything else we can do to assist, please don’t hesitate to reach out again or if there is anything I can do to share my best advice on earning Cashback.

I use OFF15 code. Sound like false advertisement.

    • +2

      @gotyourback

When I posted the deal, I could clearly see the OFF15 and OFF20 promo in the banner via ShopBack app. This was also consistent with other cashback providers too (eg TopCashback) so it’s definitely a bs response

    • -1

Hey there! 👋 Sorry to hear about this. Could you shoot me a DM so I can take a closer look into this for you? I’d love to see if there’s anything I can do to help. 😊

      • @gotyourback OFF15 and OFF20 were included in the promo. See screenshot below

Sending you a DM to have my cashback also rectified

        https://ibb.co/tPFzDzR4

        • +1

Hey! Yep, those codes were eligible. The team is still looking into it, but appreciate you sending me a DM—I'll check and get back to you soon! 👍

  • +2

@ Rep, please create an option on your portal to be able to flag these directly, without having to go through endless AI Robot screens, and having to spam you here.

Mistakes happen, but I think there is room for improvement on how we can report these.
If you want happy customers you also need to give us options to report these seamlessly and not make us go through hoops or via forums to get some traction…

    • Thanks for the feedback 😊 We get how annoying it can be going through all the steps. While we don’t have a flagging feature just yet, you can always shoot an email to help@shopback.com.au and our team will sort it out for you.

Thanks for your patience and let us know if you need anything else! 👍

    • +1

Pretty sure the hassle is intentional and a calculated move to minimize the number of claims they have to deal with. They make a lot more money making sure things are not reliable nor seamless.

    • Exactly!!! But seems that this is not what they can do. Feels like they want to minimise interactions with customers, never asked for a feedback etc

  • +2

These missing/incorrect cashbacks are always so conveniently a system error…
Especially when it's a very popular deal.

You would think they'd get their act together, after the last shenanigans…but no.

  • today ebay 10% cb till 10pm?

    • Would you trust it, to track and be correct?

  • +1

@gotyourback any further updates on the $0 tracked amounts?
