There’s no way that’s the real HP SSD

  • It's not sold by Kogan, sold from LumaDirect. Just going to take this out of my Cart now……

    Price error

That old saying of "if it seems to good to be true, there's a good chance it is", rings very true here. Seems suspiciously cheap.

Have to be in it to win it

    • $10!

      • Bought it, let’s see whether it comes. Paid via PayPal to be safe too

I put the delivery address to an AusPost GPO, and just my first and last name initials

        • -1

          Why?

          • @MEGASERVE: Why not?
I didn’t give them any of my real details so what’s there to lose?

            • +1

@BargainsGrabber: Why would it even matter if they had your real details thats what im asking

              • -1

@MEGASERVE: No problem. Please share your real name in the comment and let’s see what we can do with it

        • Same

        • +5

But you paid via PayPal you said? That's plenty of your "real details" they already got.

    • Friiii Xiping for a tenner. Shut and steal my money 🤑

    • +1

      True to your name!

I bought ten of the 4TB drivers. Already on FB marketplace for $300 if anyone's looking for a deal

      • Only if we meet in a park and the serial number matches.

        • Perfection. I'm using my friend's ozb account to post this so don't worry if I don't match my profile when we meet.

          • +4

@CodeXD: I… Understand all these references.

      • I offer you $10 sir

      • Is it still available ?

        • No

      • -1

4 drivers with TB?, I'll put my mask on

    • +2

If you're lucky you'll get an USB-C to USB-A adapter inside. Remove the glued USB flash drive and replace with your own.

      • If you're lucky… you'll get an USB-C to USB-A adapter only…

    • +1

Thanks BG, I had $35 credit I didn't know how to spend.

    • +1

Thanks, bought 3. Mac Mini Storage sorted.

  • +11

  • Bought the 1TB just to see the 4TB one.. $30 later let’s see if they come

    • quick cancel the 1tb order

      • +1

Thank you kind sir. Have just cancelled the og order

        • Can you tell me how to cancel a Kogan order, would appreciate.

          Or change mailing address?

  • +3

    Ordered 2 x 4tb via PayPal for $20.

    Lets see what happens.

    • +1

if there is a natural disaster you should be fine:
"This software can restore system functions in a natural disaster or emergency to ensure data preservation, security and privacy."
and if you believe that whole thing, I want to talk about this reallycheap bridge that I have for sale

  • +1

If you think $20 for the product is a bargain, look how much of a bargain 3 years of "extended care" for it for only $66 more is.

  • Bought the 4TB via Paypal, let's see

  • +1

    I cancelled my $20 1tb drive and bought $10 4tb one

  • +12

With how the pricing is going:

    $20 1tb
    $10 4tb

I cant wait to pay $5 for 16tb

    • +2

      Great math

    • +3

I'm waiting for them to pay me $20 for the 1PB model.

  • +1

Bought 4TB, wish all of you luck xd

  • +1

Thanks also bought 4TB for $10, even though I don’t really need it.

  • thanks, got 4TB one

  • +1

    fake.

    • +2

Linglong nand chip with keylogger. Everyone's bank account and crypto wallets drained once plugged into the computer.

  • Good luck, looks like the deal got taken down

    • No. I just bought it. 4TB ones were OOS, but 1TB was still available.

      • my mistake, looks like the 4tb was just all snapped up

  • 4tb looks like out of stock 1tb still stock

  • All gone, 4tb and 1tb

  • Damn it … ozbargnd

Would have been a great deal after the Bunnings one went away with an email from Mark.

  • Glhf fingers crossed

Found this one too for $20
    Just ordered 2

    • Their pricing is all over the place lol

    • Saw your comment and ordered 2 as well

      Thx mate

  • +12
    • Cheers. Ordered through PayPal. Will see if it sticks.. Fingers crossed!

  • Does it include 1TB SSD? Sounds really cheap.

  • Is there any store to pricematch Kogan, just in case if it comes again?

    • Best bet is Officeworks and JB but they're usually a bit sketchy when it comes to price-matching online-only stores like Kogan, I've had amazon price matches rejected.

    • Lol good luck with price matching for $10 or $20, especially with JB.

Selling this low would activate a clawback; giving the sales rep negative commission - as in, literally deducting from their current earnings.

      • 99% sure that would be illegal

        • Oh it's legal, it's clearly stated in the employment contract and it comes under "poor performance/sales standards". They could probably push fraud and misconduct too.

This happens in a lot more than sales btw, and all the ACL has to say about it is that it cannot be overly harsh.

          • @pennypincher98: Are they only able to take it from commissions/bonuses based on commission or can they also take from your base pay

            • @Shiroi Okami: From memory, it was only from commissions/bonuses but you kinda do have to rely on that money a bit lol.

Silver 1TB version also available for those who want to try their luck $20

    https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/lumadirect-hp-1tb-p900-portable…

    • There's still some left!

  • +4

Suspect these will be just like those $5 1tb microsd card knock offs on Ali Express. They report the right size but start playing up shortly after you start using them. Easy to fool digital storage into reporting a size that it isnt.

    • Could be so before storing anything on them just format them and it will give you the right storage amount if it is a knock off.
If they are a knock off then paypal will help if kogan doesnt

      • +1

Format won't change the fake capacity - run it through H2TestW to make sure.

        • It used to. Must of improved the dodgyness

    • +2

The seller's ABN listen on the Kogan store checks out.. Seems to be a legitimate Australian store so worth a try I suppose.

  • 2 TB HP purchased

  • +1

The silver 1tb @ $20 seems to be still available. Thanks Op. Thinking it was just a glitch but good luck who snagged one

Found this some local model… 8tb for $24

    • +1

Or this random as 14TB no brand portable SSD for $28 hahaha

      https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/tiristore-external-solid-state-…

      • +2

Yea but that one doesn't have the fake HP logo stamped on it so no go.

      • If anyone does take a chance this 14TB, post back and let us know if it works legit.

        • +1

Hey just got delivered , plugged in space showing 15.2TB … jackpot in $28… still available if you want to order… good luck

          • @Trev0lta: Can you please try writing some data to see if it is indeed close to the stated space

          • @Trev0lta: A 14TB drive with 15.2TB space? Bargain, you got yourself bonus 1.2TB. Niceeeee

    • “Packing list: 1 * HDD”. Kinda shady.

    • "Protable"

  • Got the 2TB. I will be checking this post for updates.

  • +6

pricer error when they made the listing i bet, their ebay store has the listings at 20x price.

i came across a similar price error when searching kogan

    https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/tiristore-dc2000-4tb-25-inch-ss…

    • +1

I'm not sure if I could trust a no brand 4TB at $37 with my data…

      • minsterfixer posted 4tb, according to your link, that would be $417 and oos.

    • Definitely wouldn't recommend it, I'm no computer nerd but the price is too good to be true and the listing looks very dodgy. It's got spelling mistakes everywhere, no brand information in the description or on the card itself in photos (yet the photos mention "Docooler" brand, which is sold on AliExpress for similar pricing)

I was tempted to bite the bullet and cross my fingers, but reckon it's not worth the risk

  • +4

Another listing for the 1TB is still $20:

    https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/lumadirect-hp-1tb-p900-portable…

    • Thank you. got this one, also found out had $20 Kogan credit from no where-So basically free for me!

      • +1

that $20 only available to order $200 or above?
