Noontec's ZORO Headphones in Red for $77 Delivered (Look like $399 Beats but Better Sound etc.)

120

After seeing this post (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/89815) for Monster Beats, I decided that I should post this:-

I have purchased several of these Noontec ZORO headphones (in red, white, and black) for family, and friends, and as gifts.

The RED ones are on sale for $77 including delivery. They can also be picked-up if you are around (or going to) Auburn NSW.

http://www.auspcmarket.com.au/zoro-red-hi-fi-stereo-headphon…

They get very good reviews on Amazon and other sites, where many say they are better than the Beats.

There are several other Australian online sellers -
http://en.noontec.com/En/service/buy.html but no sales that I can see.

I add a ControlTalk type cable for those who want to use them with an iPhone/iPod (such as my son).

Eg. - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/230874102950 - but can be found for much less at meritline.com etc.

EDIT: I found the US$6.99 meritline cable (sometimes on sale for US$2.99) - http://www.meritline.com/3-5mm-replacement-audio-cable-contr…

I am friendly with one of the owners (have purchased so many of these) so I have ticked the REP box. So, I can help you with questions about the headphones, but not the AusPCmarket business itself or delivery etc.

Does this come with a case? What accessories does it come with? Thanks

Please play the (boring) review video that is in the link, or google search for other (better) reviews on the web.

They come with a soft case/bag, and a flat 'noodle' cable.

I see that the other colours are now $93.50 with free delivery.

Keeping it real- you feel me?

      Isn't that 2pac (tupac)?

Don't know. I get all my gangster slang off The Wire so it's probably archaic.

        • as long as it's not the "s**t just got real"

          it's all good

  • Can't think of many gifts worse than a pair of knock off Beats personally

Personally I can't believe that you did not look at these headphones or read some reviews before 'neging'.

They are not "knock off Beats" just because they look like them. They carry the Noontec logo, and are packaged as Noontec ZOROs.

Can get genuine, excellent sounding Sony MDR-V6 for similar prices

Yes, and these have been given some excellent reviews as sounding excellent as well.

    For example -
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hHMrw3rDKOg

And, $77 delivered is not "similar" to around $100 delivered.

Actually $75 AU, so less expensive. Your loss really

      • Actually $75 AU, so less expensive. Your loss really

My search in Australia did not find such a low price for genuine SONY ones.

For the benifit of fellow ozbargainers who may wish to buy the SONY ones instead of the ZOROs please post a link.

        Thanks.

        • That is the regular price on Amazon US delivered to Australia

        • -2

That is the regular price on Amazon US delivered to Australia

There is a sale price at the moment on Amazon.com of $68 plus delivery. The "regular price" is $110 plus shipping.

I prefer the look of the ZOROs but others would prefer the SONY brand name.

I only searched in Australia as the ZOROs are in Australia with free Australian delivery (ithink this is quite quick delivery) and one can pick up.

        • So Amazon is still cheaper? o.0

When people get down voted due to expressing there opinion…

When people get down voted due to expressing there opinion…

I find it worse when posts get 'down voted' for pointing out facts. Such as the SONY ones are about 40% more expensive, and the ZOROs are not "knock off" (ie counterfeit) Beats.

Oh, and it Is "their" not "there".

So, let me get this 'straight - only two Ozbargainers think that these headphones for $77 (that have been reviewed as better than the $399 Monster Beats) are a true bargain?

    EDIT: Three

    • +3

It could just be that no one owns these in particular, and therefore aren't giving it a + vote. Yes some of the reviews says that it's good, but people would generally vote based on personal experience.

    • Its not exactly hard to get a better review than Beats… whether it is worth $77, no idea without A/B. I wouldn't pick one of these up myself seeing as my inventory is currently AT ESW9, Senn Momentum…

I would buy these if I had an easy way of making them wireless. They do look great, and I'm after good bassy headphones

  • On a side note, I don't think you should have ticked the Rep box, even if you're good friends with the store owner and are knowledgeable about the product. That Rep box is generally only ticked if you're a worker from the store, so that people can ask questions and get official responses from the store representative/worker on OzBargain. It would otherwise cause confusion, even if you've posted that disclaimer at the bottom of your post.

The note about this that I read when posting was quite clear. One MUST click the REP tag even if only connected by friendship.

My apologies, I've never submitted a deal before. I searched through the wiki but couldn't find that info, however I realised that it is included on the deal submission page. In my opinion that just makes it confusing, a disclaimer in the post saying that you're friends/family would do, its not like you're officially able to respond for the business, or perhaps some other tag should be created. And if you've posted as a rep, but the actual store wants to post as a rep itself, wouldn't that exceed the 1 rep per a company limit. Just confusing.

But rules are rules, and you definitely have followed them and not broken any.

A3 you did the right thing. If you did not tick Rep, people would have complained. It is one current downside of this awesome site, you are either a Rep or not and Reps include people who do not actually work for the store, but may know the owner.

I would buy this but they look too much like Beats by Dre and I would hate for people to think they are Beats, that would be too embarrassing

I would buy this but they look too much like Beats by Dre and I would hate for people to think they are Beats, that would be too embarrassing

The good thing is - people first see them and think you are an idiot for spending so much on Monster Beats - then they see the Noontec logo and realise that you are a very smart shopper (Ozbargainer).

    Yes, they 'have' good bass.

Also very nice packaging (make them great as a gift) which I noticed has a 'molding' for what looks like a transmitter. When I asked about this I was told that Noontec were planning a wireless set of headphones (using BluTooth?) - but this was ages ago, and no sign of a new model as yet.

  • Some interesting comments at Head-Fi:

Seems good for taking around - most people won't ridicule for the headphones (hipsters), thugs won't mug you for them (they can tell the difference), and OzBargainers will give you their nod of approval (priceless).

  • How is isolation with these headphones? How is use on public transport?

    • How is isolation with these headphones? How is use on public transport?

I am not a user of these headphones - my son is, but I can report the following:-

They are not 'noise isolation' headphones as such. This is one reason I initially purchased them for my son, and then later purchased more for friends etc. (and recommended them). Of course wearing what are basically comfortable earmuffs does cut down the amount of outside sounds, as does the volume at which one one listens to whatever is 'playing'. However, if the volume is not too high, one can hear what is going on around you. This is a safety aspect for traveling on public transport, crossing roads, etc. while listening to an 'i' device (as my son sometimes does with his iPhone).
