I've had my Amazon AU account restricted to "digital" purchases only.
I have a few hundred in gift cards added to my account and I'm not interested in renting movies or audio. Are there any loopholes in buying something of value I can resell? The message I received about this was for suspicious activity and some other generic excuse. I've had Prime, bought a lot over the years and returned perhaps 3 or 4 items.

I return about 20% of the items I buy and I’ve never had any restrictions

Sounds like you've made a fair few return claims, that is what usually happens when systems are taken advantage of, they no longer trust your business as a physical purchase customer.
I've never seen OZB rally so hard together supporting Amazon's decision before haha

This sounds like an issue that could be answered by Amazon - have you actually asked them what the limitation is about?
They'd probably tell you what you violated or what the issue was…..
