Apple iPad 11" A16 128GB $559.99 Delivered @ Costco (Membership Required) ($531.99 Price Beat @ Officeworks)

730

The latest gen ipad was just released a few days and got one for a gift after researching. after price match comes down to $531.99 instead of $599

i tried getting special from other retailers but not worth going into Costco as always busy

i found it way easier by ringing the Officeworks contact centre 1300 OFFICE (1300 633 423) and using their Price Beat Guarantee and then picking up in the preferred store was way easier than doing this in stall. the caveat was you had to pay over the phone.

i did a price match with Costco https://www.costco.com.au/c/Apple-iPad-11-Inch-A16-128GB/p/2…

when calling the JB Deals line the best they can do was $4 but they were happy to match Mwave https://www.mwave.com.au/product/apple-ipad-11-a16-wifi-128g…

  • Tell ‘em a price son

  • Price in the title.

  • Damn it. Recently bought a 10th gen. This is so much better

    • How much did you pay? So depends on that really. It’s only got more storage and a newer CPU.

      • 11th gen has more RAM as well

and price beat is 5%, used to be 10%.. why the reduction?

    • +1

Its never been 10% for officeworks

      • -7

Yes, Officeworks' Price Beat Guarantee used to be 10% lower than a competitor’s price. However, they later adjusted their policy to 5% lower than the competitor's price.

            @StarPlatinum: "never been" quote.

            • +4

@ilove: No need to quote something from 7 years ago. It’s irrelevant. It’s like my mom tells me Sydney house price was sub $500k in the 90s.

        • You're thinking off bunnings which is 10%
I'm fairly sure that officeworks was never 10%

          • -5

@Originality: nope. it was. till ozbargainers intervened (probably)

            • +1

@ilove: 5% for as long as i started getting them to pricebeat nearly 15 years ago

              • @Chickenleg: so who is right?

                • +1

@ilove: As far back as 2010 price guarantee was 5%.

2009 was price match, no price guarantee.

Not idea if price guarantee was at any point increased to 10% then back to 5%, good chance it has already been 5%.

                  • -4

@browser: Yes, Officeworks used to have a 10% price beat guarantee, but they later changed it to 5%. The policy used to state that if you found a lower price on an identical in-stock item from a competitor, Officeworks would beat that price by 10%. However, at some point, they reduced the discount to 5% instead.

                    chat ai

                    • @ilove: There are no sources that u can provide that proves it was ever 10% it’s been 5%. Using another chat ai says the opposite where it has only been 5%

                      @ilove: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Officeworks?utm_source=chatg…
Officeworks was opened in 2008 and they offered 5% not 10

                      • @StarPlatinum: you probably right

                        • +1

@ilove: I shop at Officeworks regularly and price match all the time, if at any point they had a 10% price guarantee it's unlikely I didn't know about it.

Any chance you were thinking about Kmart (also Coles Group, blue and red)? Kmart used to have a price match policy (long gone), they beat 10% of the difference.

They matched a Brother printer from this deal, they had it for $149. The difference was $83, so they took $8.30 from $66.00, paid $57.70 as shown on the receipt.

My daughter has the 10th gen just wondering without going through it all online, if anyone knows if this is a worthy upgrade?

    • gotta make sure my kids don't read this post… they are on ancient ipads which work for what they use it for. Although i'm looking at this for my daughters 16th bday i don't see what the point of a single gen upgrade would be unless she has issue's with her current device for whatever reason.

      • Yer normally single gen isn’t really a big difference but it’s been awhile since they did update this iPad model

Wish the jump in iPads from this model to the next like a air wasn’t such a massive price jump

        • you and me both :) but it's Apple …

Got this yesterday and used the WW Apple Cards for another ~10% off, going overseas in a few weeks to get the GST back, should come to around $452

    • Can you tell me how you did this? Where did u get 10% off WW Apple cards? Can you use then at Officeworks price beat?

      • The WW Apple Cards were at 20x WW rewards points (essentially 10% off as you get the value back in WW rewards dollars to use on groceries, etc). https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/895930

I used them to buy it from the Apple Edu store at $559.

Cheating the system by claiming tax on an item that you will bring back to Australia is not something to be boastful about

  • Where can we buy OW gift card with discount? thanks

Edited, now found that price at OW $557.

    • +1

      Still showing $597.

Ultimate Teen includes Officeworks, but not currently on sale, it will if you can wait.

If you are with OnePass, 4X bonus points as well, equivalent to ~$10 if you shop at Coles.

  • I was considering purchasing this but went for the iPad M2 Airs instead. Somebody posted a Costco deal here and I price beat at OW. About to go pick them up now. Not wanting to start an argument but despite the price premium, I opted for the M2 because it’s a better chipset, has Apple intelligence support and I think it will have better resale/trade-in value when I’m looking to upgrade next time.

    • I found out the resale value of iPad isn’t very sustainable. The MacBook Air will have much better resale value. However it all depends on the budget tho.

  • Bit confused, is this the actual latest model? I originally read this post as saying this is last years' model which is cheaper because they just released the new one. Now it looks like this is just the new one that's just been announced? And this is a deal? What do they normally cost new?

Would prefer the mini, why is the mini more expensive? So confused haha

    • The latest model of iPad is 11 which I believe has the A16 chipset. The latest model of iPad Air is M3. There is a really good post on reddit about the differences. Search for “ iPad air m2(2024) or iPad 11th gen(A16)(2025)”.
Also try the comparison on the Apple website itself between models.

      • Thanks

Any ideas why the mini is more expensive than the brand new iPad 11th gen?

        • +2

This iPad line is consider as Apple 'base' model, and the 'Air', 'Pro' and 'Mini' are considered 'upgraded/premium' models with better specs. (Order is usually Base -> Mini -> Air -> Pro)

For example, the 2024 Mini has the A17 Pro Chipset whereas this newly released iPad has the A16.

If no luck to get JB to match, try TGG.

TCN 10% off works for JB and TGG.

    $100 x 5 + $30 x 2, works out to $504.

  • Thanks to OP.
With price match at Office Works, cost is $531.99.
No requirement to pay over phone. Can go to any OW and obtain that price match without issue.

    • Does OW do price beat/match even If I am not a costco member ?

  • Does the 11th Gen fit the same cases as the 10th? Sizes are the same I believe

    • +1

      Same case.

  • +2

$559 for a non laminated display in 2025. Crazy!!

  • Is this the same one as on apple edu store: https://www.apple.com/au-edu/shop/buy-ipad/ipad/128gb-blue-w…

    • +1

Same one, the deal is to get OW to beat it by 5%, they won't match Apple Education.

      • Ahh yep makes sense, thanks for clarification

  • This doesn’t have stage manager right?

  • officeworks price beat in store, no drama.
    v.nice device.

    • Does OW do price beat/match even If I am not a costco member ?

      • I just bought the 256gb in ow and asked them to price match Costco. They asked to see my membership card so I just signed up to Costco online while I was there 😂 I have just moved back from NT where there’s no Costco so I was going to sign up anyway. Just hadn’t done it yet.

  • Went in to OW to pricebeat today, no issues, didn't ask for proof of Costco membership either.
