It’s $10 more than it was last year, but it’s still a pretty reasonable price overall.
Looks like there are no Aussie stores to price match with if you’re boycotting US companies.

2-3x more expensive that supermarket pods, but the problem is being stuck in the Lavazza pod ecosystem that has significantly less third party products than Nespresso.
$0.53 per pod when bought via Amazon S&S, and even less if paying with gift cards etc.
@puffinfresh: Good price if/when you find the variety that you really enjoy. 96 pods is an investment.
I agree with your point about the ecosystem constraint. I take this machine with me when I am travelling - it's small and light and goes into my carry-on luggage.
Capsules are bigger so more coffee for a better flavour. I'm no barista but to me, they taste much better than Nespresso pods.
Yep this is why way back when I went with this one. Nespresso could not be more overrated.
Note: I don't think any pod machine is better than even the cheapest coffee machine operating off freshly ground coffee though.
Every capsule coffee Ive ever tried tastes like its made from 20% floor sweepings.
Why did you taste floor sweepings in the first place
To compare, obviously?
It sounds like you spilt coffee on your floor.
Gee, I wish my floor sweepings tasted like your floor sweepings.
We had an aldi one at the Airbnb on the weekend. I agree. The other 80% must be the leftover dregs the machine ejects over a few cycles. So bad it wasn't recognisable as coffee.
Your floor sweepings must be very tasty
That's like a dollar per cup of coffee and the machine is yours. Why not! Bought one. Thanks
I bought this machine at TGG (Price Check) last year for a price in the $40s. It is pretty good, and the pods are routinely on sale at Coles/WW for $9.45 (16 pack). Amazon usually price-match and you can therefore get them for about $8.50 S&S.
From what I've read (and taste), there's more coffee in the Modo Mio pods compared with your standard nespresso-machine pods. Have worked my way through a few varieties of the Modo Mio pods - this is my favourite https://www.amazon.com.au/Lavazza-Espresso-Machines-Barrel-A… (but seems to less commonly on sale) and this one is also decent https://www.amazon.com.au/Lavazza-Modo-Passionale-Coffee-Cap….
Might make myself a cup now. It won't win any coffee awards (and I was a sceptic about pods) but I pefer this "instant coffee" than the nespresso-pod coffees I get served at friends' homes.
Can you use any other brand pods in this machine?
Nope, these modo mio are like Caffitaly ones but half as tall.
I also note that when comparing the VOLUME of liquid from a Modo Mio capsule vs the Nescafe pods from when I try in hotels, I seem to get double or triple the volume.
I’m still using mine on a daily basis three years later. The capsules were $9.50 for 16 for many months until it reverted back to $13.50. Before the long term drop of $9.50 I regularly got it at ‘half price’ for around $6.75 per box.
I’m now just hoping the old 50% deals will be back again.
and also any recommendations for the milk frother
I bought this machine with attached frother a couple of years ago from Costco. Was around $80 but haven't seen it that price for ages.
This has been as low as $20 late 23.
Been using different Lavazza models for 10 years
Bought a $349 Lavazza Voicy (built in Alexa) in 23 for $59 during Prime Day
All machines are still working.
Pods bought on sale.
Used to get the machine free or profit with Lavazza redemption. Plus 32 free pods. Lavazza stuffed up - sending me 480 free pods.
I loved the deal where if you bought like 96 pods you got a free Modo Mio machine. A relative got a few and claimed the pods as supplies for her clinic.
$1.08 per capsule isn't much more than Nespresso pods - and they don't even come with the pod machine!
