Attention gym bros and gals
This is rarely half price. IMO the best protein pudding going around. Time to stock up at Woolies.

This stuff is great, have loaded up!!
Long expiries on these, too.
Not a euphemism
Bulkin' up for my next battle in Magic The Gathering. Excelsior!
cheers brah will look it up this arv
Maltitol has a laxative effect, typically causing diarrhea at a daily consumption above about 90 g. Doses of about 40 g may cause mild borborygmus (stomach and bowel sounds) and flatulence.
i will test which will wreck me more, Maltitol or two double espresso dare iced coffees
It's the 3rd ingredient in the No Added Sugar Chocolate component.
Said component is itself 1% of the total volume.
So the actual maltitol is probably much lower than 1%.
1% of 170 grams is 1.7 grams.
I don't think most people have much to worry about, unless they are specifically sensitive to maltitol and tend to shit themselves from a very small amount of it.
That or they are a freak and end up eating enormous quantities of this stuff.
1% of 170 grams is 1.7 grams.
Yes, but if you eat 25 tubs in one sitting, at least warn others to leave the roomā¦
Honestly at that point you're worried about the protein farts, let alone the Maltitol
Better cancel your gym membership jv it's not new years anymore
Coffee and tea are mild laxatives. And 100 other fruits and vegetables. Scary stuff. Just dont eat 20 of them.
is that a sugar alcohol? so it's just hidden carbs if it is that.
I'm already a fan, mate. You don't have to sell it to me!
these artificial sweeteners have very questionable āsafetyā studies especially after the widely used aspartame was linked to cancer. better to stay clear rather than becoming a number in the side effects stats years later.
these artificial sweeteners
Carbon, Hydrogen and Oxygen are hardly artificialā¦
Yeah this stuff is good. I got onto the banana flavour for awhile but went off of it. Some of the batches Iāve had have that yucky not sure what to call it but it stops the pudding tasting smooth throughout, never had that issue with the chocolate
Do you think they were closer to expiry date. I found the consistency changes a lot the closer it gets to the expiry date.
No, I checked. They werenāt still at least a month.
Also a Shping booster for those who have that app.
These are pretty good but I tried the Paul's protein custard half price at Coles last week and I prefer those over these now.
Paul's costed less, also has less calories, less random ingredients, and only 1-2g less protein but they don't use any "protein concentrates" or whey.
https://www.coles.com.au/product/pauls-plus-protein-vanilla-ā¦
Yeah I was going to say the Paul's version is much nicer. Unfortunately a Coles-only line.
Been available in every woolies iv been in
These were my weekly staples until i started doing my own "pudding". Mix a cup of high protein flavoured yoghurt (i normally use strawberry) and a packet of low sugar aeroplane jelly vanilla berry. It comes out more firm than custard but i get my protein dose and satisfy my sweet tooth.
that jelly gives you cancer i thought. is there a safer one
Does it really cause cancer?
Cyclomate is the sweetner. We banned it and then for some reason randomly legalised it. I avoid it.
@No Child Support: It was the US that banned it in 1970 due to a 1969 rat study that could not be replicated since ā their FDA and National Academy of Sciences later concluded it is not a carcinogen.
FSANZ assessed the safety of cyclamate and concluded that it is a safe food additive.
See Colours and food additives reported as banned(foodstandards.gov.au)
@magnitude: Ah, I didn't know that until you mentioned it.
As requested (thanks Perplexity):
Yes, cyclamate remains banned in the United States as of March 2025[1][3]. The artificial sweetener was initially prohibited for use as a food additive in 1969 due to concerns about potential carcinogenicity[2]. Despite subsequent reviews and petitions to lift the ban, the FDA has not reapproved cyclamate for use in food products in the United States[1][5].
The FDA continues to prohibit the use of cyclamates and their salts, including calcium cyclamate, sodium cyclamate, magnesium cyclamate, and potassium cyclamate[3]. This ban persists even though cyclamate is approved as a sweetener in at least 130 other countries, including Canada and many European nations[1].
It's worth noting that while cyclamate remains banned in the US, other artificial sweeteners such as aspartame, saccharin, and sucralose are approved by the FDA for use in food products[5]. The continued prohibition of cyclamate in the United States stands in contrast to its legal status in many other countries, where it has been reevaluated and approved for consumption[1][8].

In case you wonder why, like I did, esp when so many other sweeteners aren't banned in the US: Why is it banned? Perplexity time-limited answer(perplexity.ai)
Yes, can confirm
@CeraVe: i wouldn't get super excited about the stuff above. it's still banned in the US which is probably cause for concern since they're pretty lax about things..
Seems like a quick protein fix!
will try a couple before stocking up
Annoying that it grabs me with the "no added sugar" then finding out it has "added sweeteners" in the ingredients list.
then finding out it has "added sweeteners" in the ingredients list.
Sorry, I dont followā¦

Pudding vs a protein bar vs shake? Is it just convenience, taste and adding variety of protein supplement?
Cost per g of protein isnāt bad but not world beating
yes i would like to know this also thank you. as in cost efficiency i logically would think that the powder is best but if anyone more knowledgeable can provide more information would be great.
look for 95% of people, protein is protein. Consume in any way you feel comfortable doing long-term.
Some people are incredibly happy to sit there and smash down shakes daily without even changing flavour, let alone brand.
others rather have some variety in their snacks.
there's a lot that goes into it as well. Are you upping protein for Bulking? atp look at straight meats. cutting? you want a good calorie/protein ratio.
Yeh I was thinking this might be good for variety. Iāve got bars, powder, wafer bars but might still grab some of these
Convenience is huge
I'd highly highly recommend making sure your main meals are just that, your main meals.
As a serial snacker (or cereal snacker, if you will) in the past i get it's pretty hard. But eating clean and helping maintain a regimen of eating times an portions goes a long way in the long run when it comes to improving your body health.
@TexasVujicic: Oh yeh I eat meals dw. Iām genetically a skinny guy, stopped gym routine through kids and back into it nowšš» Was a bloke here the other day eating a protein bar for lunch every day!
Also cereal snacker
Sounds odd but smash a bowl of cereal too around meals and late night. special K is 20% protein š
Never tried any, which is the best flavour pls?
yes
Weirdly, banana is best in these
Too much sugar for my liking!
5g sugar per 100g for keto broz
They taste ok but plenty of way better options for way less calories and almost identical protein. The aldi custards taste better, give 14g protein and have around 70 less calories. The pauls ones are better too.
Which are the aldi ones with 14g?
Was looking at aldi dairy(aldi.com.au) and the custard looked pretty standard which would be around 3-4g like the pauls one is. Was it a food envy one?
Yeah it's the food envy ones: https://www.aldi.com.au/groceries/limited-time-only/limited-ā¦
Fairly new and can be hard to find but I can usually get them if I check my local every so often.
Thank you :)
what "pauls ones"?? got a link?
https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/6004840/pa⦠often goes on sale for around $2 or so.
This one would be great in the ninja creamy with almond milk and banana to make it bigger!!!!
I like Banana and Chocolate. Vanilla tasted shit to me
Haven't tried Banana but Vanilla was pretty bad and Chocolate was palatable enough for a protein snack. Would prefer beef jerky but can't justify the expense
Agree Vanilla is so bad, I thought it was off. But everytime I tried itā¦same taste and different texture compared to other flavours. Choc and banana are good.
I didnt love the taste of these (though I seem in the minority!) I would suggest trying one or two first before stocking up!
You try banana? Best flavour by far
Yes tried banana, vanilla and chocolate. I just didnt like the aftertaste, I think it is the sweeteners they use.
Is this vegetarian?
Believe so, based on the list of ingredients.
Buyers beware, the macros/ingredients for these have recently changed. Gone up 35 calories in the latest batch. (Was 169 now 204)
Thanks. Good info
Pity about the sugar in this, otherwise would be worth trying.
Better to eat YoPro 150g yoghurt cups. 6g less fat, 4g less sugar and contains calcium. They're regularly half price.
Yeah this stuff is pretty solid šŖš½
