Best 1 Year SIM Just for VOLTE Calls?

I recently de-Telstra'd a Smart Modem Gen2 so the gf's mum could use its VOLTE service with her Boost SIM as a 'landline' when she moved into a nursing home last month.
As there's no requirement for 'data' are there any suggestions for SIMs that might better fit VOLTE needs ?

Thanks very much

Existing account required - just pay for a month and change plans.
amaysim 1 Year Prepaid Mobile Plan $60 (No Data, Unlimited Talk & Text)

    • Do you know if it is possible to not pay for a month of amaysim's normal plans and just use a $2 starter SIM, then go to the $60 a year plan?

You could activate the $2 SIM on "As You Go" (a minimum of $10 extra required), then convert to "Talk and Text Only" and pay any difference, but it's going to cost you $62 for the first year. Or….

Buy whatever discounted 28-day starter pack Coles / Woolworths / 7-11 / whoever has available at the time. Go for the biggest saving rather than the lowest price. Activate it on "As You Go", change to the "Talk and Text Only" plan, and pay the difference.

At the moment, the biggest saving appears to be the $40 starter pack for $18 at 7-11. On that basis, it'd cost you $38 all-up for the first year. The biggest saving that I recall seeing any time recently was the same $40 starter pack for $15 at Coles, so this goes close.

EDIT: It looks like some Woolworths stores have the $50 starter packs for $20, which is even better.

      • Vodafone $45 SP can be activated for 365 days Pay and Go plan (225min or 225 SMS included). Currently $17 @ Woolies, cheaper from eBay private sellers.

Vodafone $35 SP can be activated for 180 days Pay and Go plan (175min or 175 SMS included).

These ultra low priced plans suit who do not often make outgoing calls.
