    Meross has a new plug coming soon, Matter compatible that is half the size. I'd hold off a little longer!

      If that's real, I'd definitely wait. I have one of these Meross smart plugs and while it did the job, they are annoyingly large

            @phxsun: Going by specs, the new one is 42mm wide. The favoured TP link P110 is 40mm wide. So pretty similar.

            The old one was 50mm going by Amazon, but it seemed larger.

            I do know Meross deliberately designed the new one to be slimmer and not block AU ports. Mine are in the mail so I’ll know soon!

      the Meross Matter Smart Plug with Energy Monitor (MSS315MA) looks like it has a slimmer footprint (taller, and less likely to occupy the adjacent socket),
      it is on Matter-over-WiFi , not Thread-enabled though

      $44.65 for a two-pack ($22.33 ea) is close enough to preserve the adjacent socket for me

      Just a warning, these seem like the energy monitoring is not supported via Matter similar to the TAPO P110M which have been waiting for a firmware to support this for about 6 months now.

    I really like these for my coffee machine… but it feels like the smart home market has stagnated in the last 12-18 months

    Hmm, I didn’t leave a negative vote. However, my previous Meross power outlet tripped my power circuit breaker. I’m skeptical about their quality and the quality assurance process.

      I’ve had 2 now that melted and discoloured to the point where it left brown burn mark residue around the au plug port - both devices cooked and stopped working

        I've had two of the smart plugs fail in the recent months. They were no longer detectable on wifi network and emitted a continuous clicking sound (on/off) with no way to reset. I managed to get 2- 3 years out of them. Prior to that, never has any reliability of performance issues. Perhaps inferior wifi module? Otherwise have liked using them for ease of use.
