Not silly to ask, I had to google it
AGM can replace SLA in UPSs yes, it's a type of SLA battery
Yeh AGM is what would be in a UPS already, the term is pretty much interchangeable (though while all AGMs are SLAs, not all SLAs are AGMs)
Isn't this the normal price? (as per ccc) … There's a lot of similar batteries on ebay at this price and cheaper… i.e. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/267033151364
(specs are wrong also, they're not 'bolt-down' terminals)
That's the last one on eBay
It use to be more, maybe they've come down in price. Past deals are around the 35-40 mark. Last deal I could find: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/757103
This is around the eBay no-name seller price, but backed by Amazon it's a deal.
It looks like this has been the price since mid-Nov?
https://au.camelcamelcamel.com/product/B0CN8RGYJJYeah, seen that too. It's decent for an AGM/SLA battery with a reputable store (ie Amazon) backing it though
Did notice they don't have the typical data sheet, ie it's likely a budget brand.
The Bosch one from other deal may actually prove better, it has a data sheet and is still 33.95

4.26 AH/4.26 A (1hr, 1.60V/cell, 25°C/77°F)Specs kind of suck though compared to paying $46.10 for something like https://www.powerstream.com/BP12-12.htm

11.4AH/1.14A (10hr, 1.75V/cell)

.7.2AH/7.2A (1hr, 1.55V/cell) hour rate F.V.(1.55V/cell)As a UPS battery just for shutting down a computer, any will likely work
I'm always weary of giantz products, they seem to sell anything and everything. I've read many average to negative reviews regarding quality, not specifically this battery but worth noting.
Would these work for a ride-on mower? I know its deep cycle so probably doesn't have high cranking amps, but a single piston mower surely doesn't require too many amps. Anyone tried something similar with results?
Avoid Giantz and similar brands IMO. I have bought various brands before to test and none of them meet the rated capacity.
An easy way to tell they tend to include the correct weight. A quality deep cycle 9Ah battery is about 2.5KG, or higher.
The Giantz one is 1.86KG. It does not have enough lead in there to actually meet the spec. It's likely no more than 6Ah at the 10 hour rate, not deep cycle, and liable to fail fairly quickly.
Yeah no specs sheet is a bit suspicious, all branded ones have spec sheets showing their ratings at 1, 5, 10 and 20 hours. Usually the 20 hr rating is used
The bosch one for $33.95 is probably better even though it's 7.2ah
This is the cheapest just to get a UPS going again though, it's still enough to shutdown computer(s)
Is it silly of me to ask if these can replace a 12v 9Ah SLA battery in a UPS?
