Title in price please
Price added, apologies!
Remember when Monster had "special" HDMI cables and everyone gave them shit for it?
People are still giving them shit about it.
How is it different to this 3M $19 one at Kmart? https://www.kmart.com.au/product/8k-hdmi-cable-3m-grey-43161…
or 1.5M for $15.
The Kmart one does not specify at what refresh rate it can do 8k. It could mean it can only do 8k@30hz, or 8k@1hz, you can't tell as it does not advertise the bandwidth, nor does it say its certified for the advertised resolution.
It's ultra high speed which is 48gbps HDMI 2.1
nor does it say it’s certified
The K-mart one also says "Ultra high speed", which actually has a technical meaning, 48Gbps, so should be same specs as Anker.
or this one on Amazon for $16:
https://www.amazon.com.au/UGREEN-Certified-Aluminum-Compatib…
or $20 here (I think just the braiding is different?)
https://www.amazon.com.au/UGREEN-Support-Dynamic-Compatible-…
Don't be fooled, the cable is nothing special, just a generic HDMI cable of the new standard spec.
the cable is nothning special
Anker’s 18mth warranty?
Its just a cable, not a washing machine. Why do audiophiles take simple things sooooooo seriuously?
And given that OP's TV is "only" 4K (very nice TV BTW, I'm envious), why is he shopping for 8K cables specifically? Is it for audio?

not necessarily specifically, but future-proofing?
@tonester: Which is silly to do with ultra high speed 2.1 either way.
HDMI 2.2 was announced on January 6, 2025. It will be released in the first half of 2025. The maximum allowed bit rate is increased to 96 Gbit/s
@bargaino: It may not be about the 8k resolution though, it could be for 4k gaming monitors that can achieve refresh rates higher than 60hz, I guess even this cable won't be enough as some gaming monitors can do 4k@240hz or higher, but you get the idea. So yes it does matter if you want a cable for those reasons.
@bogak: The argument for upgrading from 60 to 120 - 144 was already weak. Going from 144 to 240 is a waste of time. It’s marketing spin to make RGB wanna be streamers feel better.
Anker $23.96 (was $19.99) with 18mth warranty vs 3x Cable Matters Certified Ultra HDMI Cable 48Gbps 2m $31.99 ($10.66ea)…
The Cable Matters is a great cable. Worth the purchase (I purchased the 3x 3m pack to go into my wall cavity for the mounted TVs).
At least you are not paying Monster price…
usually crest ones are going for $5 and works well. I have tested at 4k@144Hz with my TV and HTPC
few days ago it was just $3, now $4 (click the link even it says expired)

i bought this one (3m) a few months ago for $20, and it came with the certification sticker.

If anyone wants very thin and/or flexible, I can vouch for these (2 x 2m for $23)
