Interested in buying a compressor, however I've heard a lot of cheap models are of poor quality and fail often. Any owners able to comment in regards to this?

  i had one of these, they are frankly complete crap…. however if you dont know if you really need one, not going to use it much, or just cant afford a real compressor for a couple hundred more then this is not a bad price. just dont expect it to last very long. again the tools it comes with are a bit crap as well but not as bad as the compressor is.

    Only really designed for basic use, not for airtools, but for inflating tyres etc. That being said i have a 2.5hp unit ive had for 3 odd years now that still works, bought it as damaged stock for 40 bucks, replaced the regulator on it and its been top notch ever since. Only thing that brings it to its knees is high pressure paint guns and my 3/4 inch rattle gun.
