        • Wow that’s interesting. I might buy a couple of electric toothbrush just to meet the spend.

          • +2

@nightelves: I've contacted support when a 4wker hadn't awarded and was told I'd refunded, I argued the product was not fit for sale but they wouldn't have it and didn't fix the 4wker.

            • @HopSkipJumpFallSplat: So if you refund then you don’t meet the spend for that week. Is that what you’re saying? Sorry just conflicting response hence a bit confused.

              • +1

@nightelves: All I know is I had refunded whilst doing a 4wker and it didn't award and support refused to honor it due to the refund, whether or not it failed for that reason I don't know.

              • @nightelves: Maybe return after you get the bonus points.

        • +2

          Yes it does.

        • To follow up on this, I received my bonus and then I returned some items.

      • I think it does…

  • I just used my 'free' $50 a few days ago, and hello, here is another. Coles has worked out that the only way they'll get me to spend more than a few dollars at their store is the $50x4 offers.

Over the last 14 months I have received 9 offers and used them all. Great for buying generic products that are identical in every way between all supermarket chains.

    I don't understand Coles/Flybuys offers….

I used to always get these 4x $50 spend and I'd get them regularly and often
Then they crept up to 4 x$80 spends..then I stopped getting them altogether
I got some odd offers like 4000 points for a $100 spend, and then 2000 for $90 spend

    Then now I get 4 x $50 spend again

    So I really don't understand

    • They keep your brain busy so you don't forget about them.

    • They check if you really can not do more than usual $50.

  • How do you become targeted for these offers?

    • +2

Spend less and they will put you back on the $50 list.

      • What about not spending at all?

      • +1

        Or get more accounts.

  • +1

About to stop and they pull me back.

Also, Week 1 is 10 days for those who might shop twice in week 1.

  • I got $100, $70, $90 on three cards. And nothing on the fourth. Kinda bummer.

Likely will use the $70 one…

And rest on local grocery store & wollies delivery

Remember you can use any flybuy points you already have ..that I will use. I have like $89 remaiing.. So first week free anyway. Then three weeks of $70 each.. and then get $50.. not bad

  • Previous offer went up from $50 to $60, which I activated and completed. This offer is $60 again, which I have activated and will complete.

All too easy to spend $60 a week on a standard grocery shop these days. I'll turn down a $70 offer for the sake of the algorithm however.

    • +1

For those wondering my shops on the previous $60 offer were $62, $63, $71 and $70.

  • My previous offer was $50 weekly spend for 10,000 points.

I saw the advice from people saying stop at $50 and i stopped at under $55 all 4 times and this offer is again $50 weekly spend. So it worked for me. I'll try and split my purchases and stop at $50 and see if it works again after these 4 weeks.

  • Got 4x$60, roughly 20% return. Will see if I do it or not.

  • For me its $120 each week for 10,000 points. Most probably wont be meeting that each week :(

Anyone know if there a trick to get this $120 to $50? What pattern they must be using to determine that $ value?

    • Don’t spend as much on your flybuys card is the only way.

      • Agree. Don't do no shops though - do small ones well under $50 so the algorithm tries to tempt you to spend more.

    • Get more accounts.

  • Mine have been creeping up, this time I have to spend $100 per week, no, thanks.

  • I don't trust that all the items on my shopping list will end up being available and I'll end up going below the required spend amount and miss out on the points. :-(

    • This has happened to me before, I just called them at the end of the 4 weeks, and they sorted it out.

    • +1

I just did an online order for alcohol via coles online, item wasn’t available , dropped price to $42 , app honoured original price of $54 and the digital receipt says “congrats you have completed week 1 blah blah”

  • Does it work when buying with Coles credit?

  • Great post, thanks!

    Can anyone advise:

    1) Do you have to activate it each week, or just once for week 1 and then it continues on for the rest of the 4 weeks?
    2) If I make a Coles online order today, to be collected tomorrow, will that count for week 2?

    Thanks so much!

    • 1) Just once
      2) Yes, it depends on date you collect since receipt will be generated as you collect.

      • Thanks so much! Appreciate your reply

  • +1

Completely week 1 and then the offer completely disappeared from the page on the flybuys app today. Anyone have the same? Assuming it means offer is still active in the background?

    • +3

Thats normal, it will reapper Wed if you qualified.

      • Thanks.

        • Did yours reappear? Mine hasn't today

          • @mecusherb: I did not see it in my flybuys app too.

            • @kampret: I am not overly fussed. Purchase history is in line with the offer.

          • @mecusherb: No sign of mine yet. I did the first purchase on 28 Feb, the first day of week 1. Hopefully there wasn't a glitch and I was "too early". I'm gonna wait a couple days and see what happens. It does seem like this could be much better implemented. 🙄

            • @simonbrads: I had to do another shop today and on the receipt it said something like "Congratulations that's 2 weeks or the 4…"

So it knows what's going on. Maybe just do a shop and check your print out.

              • @mecusherb: Finally showed up, three days left. Weirdly, it's not in the "activated" section, and there's no "activate" button. I guess it's best just to trust it's all working behind the scenes. (This is my first one of these four-week offers.)

EDIT: I also just received an email confirming my week 1 shop and prompting me to do the week 2 shop.

Very annoying that we lose the track and have no way of conforming the qualification. The IT guys deserve an award. WW has something similar but better. Lucky we have here as a second source of tracking the date but still it's not easy to find this post for some.

  • Flybuys very frustrating… Qualified first week, waiting for it to show on app or email.. nothing.. I'll spend $50 tomorrow, hoping it comes good.

    • You don't have to hope. Just read comments above.

  • The “week” ends on Sunday

If I order online Sunday for a Monday delivery, is it counted in the prior or future week?

    I think future?

    • Future. (The points accrue on the Monday.)

  • Came back to check if anyone else has the same issue as me - the offer has completely disappeared from the Flybuys app, still hasn’t returned at all since first activating it. Luckily my receipts have been showing that the shops have qualified but this is pretty annoying.

    • +1

Frequently happens to me. I keep my receipts for 4 weeks to refer back to.

    • +1

Everybody has the same issue, they disappear (i think wednesdays) and come back a day or 2 later!

  • Yay got my points today. Love these promos.

  • This is first time, did 4th weeks shopping last Monday, got base points yesterday but not bonus 10000 points yet. Its been 48 hrs already.

    • I'm sorry, but they should have come in. Check all four receipts to see if they said "Congratulations." If they did not, check that you spent the required amount.

      • All checked, called them and was told that need to wait 48 hrs after finishing promotion.

      • I just found out that flybuys recorded in glass containers credit transactions but not in normal transactions. Very weird.

        • So what, $50 worth of glass container credits then?

          • @wavesgreen: In Glass containers transaction it shows $63 i spent but it doesn’t show on flybys transactions.

  • This is the first time I opted for $50. How soon do they load the $50?

    • +1

It's usually available on your next shop the afternoon following your Week 4 qualifying shop.

Weekend might delay things if your Week 4 qualifying shop was completed on Friday or Saturday. Maybe.

      • Thanks. It worked. I ordered a coles delivery today. In the tax invoice, it shows it deduced $50. Thanks mate
