Important Note #1: You need an inactive account (account without an active premium subscription) to change your region. If you're region is already set to India then no steps involving VPN are needed - you can just paste the key and redeem 12 months. Alternatively you can make a new account.

Important Note #2: Your Spotify account's region will be set to India, meaning the recommendations are localised to that country.

Instructions

Step 1
Purchase a Spotify 12 month subscription from G2A using the above links. There are multiple sellers with varying reliability. I personally went with 'Vikingsbrothers' who had the most sales and highest rating and received the code within 2 minutes. As of writing, the price is $32.81. There are also other durations available on G2A e.g. 1, 3 & 6 months. The maximum allowable subscription using gift cards is 18months.

Eneba is also another possible seller. I cannot find any Amazon India sellers.

Step 2
Wait until you have received your activation code (typically couple of minutes).

Step 3.
Switch your VPN ON and set the location to India.
When the VPN is activated, go to Spotify(accounts.spotify.com). Go to "account" then "Edit Profile", change the country setting option to "India" it should appear.
If it does not appear, check if the VPN is activated correctly . Save Changes. This will now enable you to redeem your Indian Gift Card.

Step 4.
Copy and paste the gift card codes you have previously purchased. If you try to redeem more than 18 months of premium, you will receive an error stating that you cannot redeem more than 18 months of premium in advance.

Done!

It may be possible to convert to a family plan as documented by a past deal but this has not been tested. You want to keep the same region otherwise the duration of premium will be reduced.

      After being on YT premium through India for a couple of years, started using Revanced YT a month or so ago - pretty happy. Some limitations compared to full premium, but it's free, no ads and background playback works, which was a major for me. Can download too using Seal.

      Just did a family plan following this old guide.

      Basically equates to $1.16 per person per month in a shared 6 person Spotify family account, lasting until May 2026 for me.

      Bought 3x6 Brazil Spotify Premium from G2A.

      Only concern is my screenshot here showing premium family until August, then 6 months INDV, back to 90 days family.

        The guide says 3x6mo Indiv Premium should convert to 12mo family. Current G2A price is just under AUD$40/6mo. So about $10/mo if it lasts 12 months. Your screenshot is indeed concerning.

    Brought two for two teenagers. I try convincing them to use Youtube music via my Argentina hack to no avail.

It reject my Wise and CBA card via Paypal and it didnt like Wise credit card without paypal. Paid $78.94 AUD. Hope it work tomorrow morning when I activate with their spotify account.

      I did this for the audiobooks (because Spotify Premium Australia has them and I listened to a lot of them during my Premium trial), only to find that Spotify Premium in India does not have audiobooks currenly available. So far Spotify has only launched audiobooks in US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.

      Did you get it resolved? I bought four 12 month gift cards from vikingbrothers and one of them didn’t work. Spent a week messaging them via g2a as they only deliver one message per day. They were claiming my vpn didn’t work and that they’ve tested the gift card, which is bs. Put my claim through PayPal now and waiting for PayPal to resolve but now I’m just waiting.

        Easy I don’t have playlists I know what albums I like and just play them or I go randomly with Apple iCloud accounts I just press hide my email and it creates a random email that forwards to your current email. It’s great.

      I'm using IOS turkey. Not sure if cheapest. Month by month. Believe 105try/month. I don't do fancy plan on it. I just top up with gc when getting low. Dont use that iPhone. Would prefer yearly plans but think they closed most of those loopholes.

    word of caution on family - it works BUT it only converts to 3 months for the 12 month card.

    Bought multiple 12 months cards, but now can't change country back to India to redeem them, get caught on a loop as you need to have an Indian CC to change the plan back.

    Apparently will be able to change to India once current sub expired, but can’t confirm yet

        Would have been Saturday morning. I got an email from G2A within minutes with the order details. There's a 'get order' button you have to click on that email which takes you through to the code redemption portal.

            @dtrinh: No, when switching to individual the family members were disassociated. Once converted to family, as an Australian admin, I was able to reinvite family members, that used my Australian address. Check the linked instructions, as that confirms the switch back to Australia during the process.

      Yes it jumped because Vikingsbrothers is out of stock, perhaps because xManager died and people started scrounging around for deals.

      The deal still works with Brazil/Egypt/India 3/6/12 month gift cards on G2A or eneba. Just find the cheapest reputable seller. Or wait for Vikingsbrothers to get more stock.

    Just confirming 12months Individual India converts to only 3months Family Australia. Paid AUD$33.10 Still better than full price.
    Neither G2A nor Eneba had 6mo keys available and for some reason 1mo and 3mo keys were really expensive.

    Was going to try Brazil as mentioned above but price hasgone up. Would have been about $108 for 18mo Brazil, converting to 7mo Aus. Guess I'll do it all again June 18.
