  • Short Wait - Awaiting delivery to our warehouse = No stock atm?

    • Says, 'in stock - ready for immediate shipping' for me.

    • It's now marked as —> "Short Wait - Awaiting delivery to our warehouse".

      Can't wait?
TGG will be able to fix you up.

  • Would 40 el-cheapo pedestal fans - purchased one after the other as they clap out every few years - last longer than one dyson AM02?

    • +1

Oh but how could one stand being "hit" by the air!? They must buy a Dyson AM02 to avoid getting injured!

    • 40? I just saw them 2 for $20 at Bunnings, that makes it 49 pedestal fans! Although I think the appeal is the design and non-blowiness (to use the technical term).

      • I was being conservative, worked it on $12 each :)

Seriously though, how big of a spanner do you have to be to get something like this at this pricepoint? Ludicrous.

Dyson products are not that long lasting anyway. My vacuum cleaner has broken bits and my handheld vacuum cleaner has intermittent contact problem. All are less than 3 year old.

    • Not good enough is it, guess the saying 'you get what you pay for' doesn't apply to dyson gear.

That is why I stick with Miele brand.

    • I have a broken Dyson fan sitting next to my couch. Tried to adjust the swivel to get it to point downwards and broke it. Build quality if VERY FLIMSY so I wouldn't recommend buying one unless you got to the bid retailers like Hardly Normal or Good Guys because they sell you the add-on warranty that guarantee's a replacement should the device fail (glad I got mine).

Why did I need this appliance the first place? We've got pet birds that are allowed free time everyday and the last thing we want is one of them sitting on the pedestal fan and injuring itself. So yeah, this fan does serve a purpose.

Only people with too much money will buy this thing.

    • +4

I don't think any rich people will buy this, this for someone to show off they can afford a $500 fan! but not for a $1000 air con…

  • +5

    what a waste of money

Gimmicky, I don't buy into this Dyson's trick and it is definitely not worth that price. I will consider it if it's less than $70. I neg this just to warn our fellow Australian (those that have a smaller frontal lobe) and it is not directed to the OP.

    • +2

I agree.. these fans are good, but not worth the price of a small air conditioner (or close to, you catch my drift).

not negging because technically this is an ok deal for the product, but seriously… this is not a bargain for a fan.

      • A comment worth replying to.
Remember, it's all about the SAVING, not the product in question.

        Bargain for a "Dyson AM02 fan"…
        —> $110/599 = 18.36% saving!

If you want, 'just a fan or aircon', nothing to see here fellas!

these things are also bloody useless i swear standing in front of it i can ask someone to blow thru a straw to give off more air

  • maybe someone will post a few bargain decent quality fans that would last more than a few months.
we have 2 mistral fans bought 5 years ago and still going strong. dont remember how much they were (around $60) but got them from bigw. they are noisy but airy. unfortunatly they are not manufactured anymore.

    Any other suggestions?

I bought a metal one from kmart homemaker for like 10 fantastic airflow

  • Can you talk in this one and sound like Darth Vader?

    • No but you can stick your neck/arm/leg/appendage through it and look like an absolute asshat.

This thing sucks air from the vents at the bottom and blows it out thru tiny holes scattered around the head - therefore no, you can't sound like darth vader because u aren't actually talking into the breeze, more like standing in front of it.

  • Dyson defend their intellectual property, that's why its only now cyclonic vacuum have become available from competitors when the patents expired. The tech is cool but its not much better than a $15 bunnings job to be honest…
