    • Can get 6 weeks plus CTM cashback, might work out better for some.

  • Single trying to compare basic hospital only insurance just for tax purposes and none of them have any free weeks listed on the CTM website.
I'm searching for "SPECIAL OFFER" in the comparison tables with all funds listed.
Is that correct or am I doing something wrong ?

    • +1

The weeks free are usually for combined cover, meaning hospital and extras (so not stand alone hospital cover), I'm afraid.

      • +2

Recently got 6 weeks free with Bupa on hospital only insurance, the basic one

All good - signed up on phone and tracked. Hope the CB gets confirmed. Fingers crossed

  • Hi OP, just confirming if i sign up today but put the start date of the policy in a couple of days- is that still eligivle for the cashback?

    • +1

Yep. As long as you sign up via TCB before midnight (when the deal ends).

      • Thank you! Do you know if AHM by medibank also qualifies for cashback with the 6 weeks free? It is coming up as an option for me in CTM but wondering if it's ineligible because not listed here in this post or any of the comments.

      • Are you sure? Because I just tried with NIB via the CTM site and you need to choose a payment date and the first date for a payment is tomorrow therefore there is no payment for Top Cash Back to track before it ends tonight..

        • +2

When i signed up last time i elected payment date 10 days after the TCB CTM offer ended and cashback was confirmed and paid

          • @easternculture: Ok, well thats good to know. it may be worth a shot, However I really want it to start on 17th April so would be 17 days from today..

            • @cathalm8: As long as you purchase/sign up and start the policy today, you will be eligible. You just need to make sure you purchase through the correct link. Keeping in mind there is a Private Health Insurance rate rise tomorrow so the premium may be different on the 17th.

              • @ctmaus: When you say 'start the policy today' does that mean I can't select the policy start date in the future i..e the 17th then or I wont be eligible?

                • @cathalm8: You can change the start date, however, the promo finishes at midnight, so it must be done today. So long as you remain financial and dont cancel inside the 60 days as per the Ts and Cs. :)

          • @easternculture: So it doesn't actually track the transaction, just that you've signed up

  • I can't get Union Health to show (after refining providers). Vic.

    • This can depend on the level of coverage or policy name you're after, as products can vary from time to time. Do you wish to speak with a consultant? You can call us on 13 80 17 or we can organise a call at a time which suits.

      • I tried a wide variety of options, including the most simplistic, and each time Union Health wasn't offered but other providers were. I've now signed up direct with a provider.

  • +1

Think it might be too late to sign up for this as the CTM website only allows me to select tomorrow for first payment and that's with a policy starting today. I assume payment has to be made before tonight?

    • You should be able to select a future date. Which fund is this with?

      • +1

NIB. I can select a date for example I selected 17th April but I was concerned that if payment wasn't taken today i.e. before the cashback offers ends then I wouldn't be eligible for the cashback..

        • +1

You will still be eligible provided you meet all other criteria, and remain financial and do not cancel within 60 days of the start date. But it must be done today before midnight. :)

  • @ctmaus

Compare the Market dont have the extras I want with Union Health.

Will I lose my cashback rebate if I sign up with the extras you have (you only have Comprehensive Extras with $200 group therapies), then change over to a Healthy extras 60 (which has $400 group therapy) via Union Health direct?

    • Usually best to keep extras as is until the cashback is confirmed.

  • @easternculture

is there a time exclusion since you were last with Bupa? I don't see one in the T&Cs?

Dont want to use this Bupa promo, but its the only other fund that will pay free weeks after 4 weeks.

Can sign up direct for 6 weeks free + upto $700 woolies (but need to be paid active for 60 days). Looking to be with Medibank June 30.

Could I go to Bupa now, then Medibank, then AHM (July 1), then Bupa again (assuming this type of promo is still active…which it probably will be (as you do need to be paid well to join Bupa).

    • Just follow the t&c in the fine print.

Union health usually have a 12 months exclusion period but when i signed up via CTM, they didnt enforce this (was not mentioned in fine print t&c) and gave me free 4 weeks after i paid one month.

And as usual , take screen shots for worse case scenario

      • +1

Union Health have really small limits for Physio etc. So looked elsehwere, and Bupa are the only other with free weeks after 4 weeks.

Also considering Frank. But will need to go direct - no free weeks via CTM.

        • There are loads of health funds that offer good limits that have higher physio limits and free periods, ahm, HCF and nib come to mind and you can get the cashback through CTM. Think NIB are doing 8 weeks free too.

          • @omo: But they are all 8 weeks paid for x weeks free.

The aforementioned are 4 weeks paid before the free weeks.

      • @easternculture

Sold my sole and went with Bupa - $275 cashback (better track) + 6 weeks free after just 4 weeks paid (their direct promo requires 60 days paid (but with $500 woolies dollars). Had to do it as Union Health had low extras limits, and my partner (who is already over UH limits) would be out of pocket $180 over the 8 weeks

So Bupa it was. The extra 2 weeks free did it. They did have a no Bupa promo used in 60 days exclusion in the later payment T&Cs (was never mentioned in the actual offer T&Cs earlier on selecting).

$275 from TCB is still better than paying an extra $330pm (my premium) and getting the $500….and an Oodie!

Also, gives me enough time to jump over to Medibank mid June. Can I set that up now?
Would you do that (to get the Medibank sign up offers + the bonus June 30 payment)? or wait until the April 1 raise and see what Medibank throw out?

        • Gonna wait to see if any decent offers. My free period ends mid may.

I do recall seeing in the CTM Bupa fine print about a 1 year period to get free months

But if you wanted, you can sign up to medibank today and put the start period when your bupa free months end

          • +1

            @easternculture: I took a screenshot of the 60 days disclaimer from Bupa's T&Cs.

            No doubt I'll need it.

I'm getting good at the game now

Grab the t&Cs…makes the result a breeze.

        • Interesting….going via TCM i didn't saw Bupa offers Rewards points offer. It was 6 weeks free with different extras option than available directly through their website.

          • @s0805: You need to go to filters> provider>clear all/none> then select Bupa only.

You need to do this for each provider to truly see all offers.

To get the hospital cover and extras you want to show up, you need to a PhD in Private health.

For example, Bronze + doesnt show unless you include an item listed on Bronze + only

Then Super extras would not show unless you add hearing devices to the filters list. Otherwise you only get the products that give CtM the best kick back.

Worth mentioning the extras CTM did present were not eligible under their free weeks promotion T & Cs. Classic Bupa.

.in summary, CTM is absolutely rubbish (and so are Bupa). But I'll take the $$ as a reward for educating myself.

            • @tunzafun001: Wow this has me worried I signed up for BUPA via CTM and it was tracked by TCB. However I just went with the option it gave me which was 'Bronze Plus Simple Hospital $750 Excess with Freedom 50 Extras'. Is this an issue? And if so should I cancel it some how?

I took screenshots of the fine print of BUPA deal from the CTM website as I had issues getting points last year. I finished up with BUPA June 30th last year so within 12 months hence why I took teh screenshot.

            • @tunzafun001: Looks like I need to cancel it somehow as it states in the offer t&c's screenshot i took that offer excludes freedom 50 and freedom 60. I went for freedom 50 as it was an option. Classic Bupa. Never easy!

Do you reckon I cancel this somehow? Would i need to contact Bupa or CTM. I do not see any cooling off period language or cancelation language in the confirmation emails received from CTM.

I could contact BUPA and ask to change the extras to one that meets the offer but that's relying on believing it will be honoured by BUPA which i would be sceptical based on previous experience..

              • @cathalm8: So dodgey. With default filters, the only extras it presented was Freedom extras (and the promo for free weeks etc at the bottom).

Hopefully it's still there. I'd screenshot it/ AFCA it.

                I'm sure it breaches something.

                • @tunzafun001: I spoke to BUPA who were friendly tbf. They said I need my membership number which should arrive from Bupa within 5 days of signing up so by Monday. Then they can pull up the account and can either upgrade extras and honour deal or else ill cancel it as its within 30 days cooling off.

                  • @cathalm8: Roll the dice I guess. Hopefully Topcashback still sticks with the changes.
If it helps, I went with Super extras.

As for Bupa…they are always friendly (if they answer)…but they just don't ever do what they say they will do

Ask for everything in writing/ emails.

                    • @tunzafun001: This is true, they try and kill you with kindess but nothing ever gets done. Tempted to cancel to avoid hassle.

                      • @cathalm8: I'd leave it. Worse case you get 6 weeks free.

As for Bupa itself. My partner couldn't log on/ use Hicaps.
Rang up.. Usual, they have no solution/ wait.

                        Lodged a complaint already (<48hrs).
Classic Bupa. I know the drill now at least.

                        • @tunzafun001: So I called Bupa after I got my membership number. They said they would just give me the 6 weeks free as soon as I made the first payment which I did there and then over the phone and then I was told that iam now covered for 10 weeks. I was meant to receive an email confirming this but of course I did not. I think I need my cover to start so that I am able to see wherever it shows on my account that date the payment is due to double check they have actually applied the 6 weeks free.

I am still hopeful ill get the cash back as well but we will see.

          • @s0805: Im guessing its state dependant. The free bupa weeks were not available in nsw when i searched

            • @easternculture: possibly. this was in VIC ad reference. I just thought its best to go through direct as everyday reward points were worth more than the cashback in our case.

  • So when is the cashback payable? Estimated payable showing as N/A.
And the purchase amount seems weird. Assume it covers the amount i need to pay before i get cashback. If that includes the 6 weeks free will be close to 5 months. I.e the purchade amount is a little over 3 months.
