      • Looks like thats the only way. Thanks for that.

  • Am I eligible if I've claimed a cashback from CTM before for PHI?

    • As far as my understanding one cashback per policy. Nothing stated on number of policies

  • Are we able to see the free week offer in CTM website?

    • You should see them in the comparison choices

  • +4

@tightarse are you able to confirm if you will still receive the cash back if CTM calls you and you do it over the phone.

    • A ring back worked for me last time..

This time I went fully through the website and didn't track. Have put a claim through a d now have to wait… I got screenshots, but if it takes too long, I'm sticking clear of cashback in the future!

  • +1

Out of the phi listed only Union Health give free weeks for hospital only.

Does anyone know how prepayment works? I paid for aia almost 3 weeks ago. Do they refund me prorata?

    • You only pay for active days.

      • why isnt union coming up for a family of 4 in nsw with no extras? I only see see u and bupa out of the 4 listed.

  • When is this cashback offer ends?

    • +1

Ends 23:59 AEDT March 31, unless withdrawn prior by CTM and/or TCB.

  • is the TCB cash back independent of the actual amount you pay on your policy e.g per month or do you need to have paid cumulatively the cash back amount. e.g. policy is 100/month, so pay for ~2 and a bit months to get the full $275 cash back for hosp+extras? TIA!

    • +2

Cashback for this offer is unrelated to the plan or company you have chosen, as long as you click through TCB to CTM, and apply a Hospital + extras policy, You will get $275 cashback

      • What a time to be alive!

        Thank you!

  • my policy doesn't end for another couple weeks. Is there an expiry date on this cashback offer?

    • You can change the start date of new policy during application

    • Your current insurance provider will provide a pro rata refund

  • Completed at 7am. Not showing in pending or confirmed. If I chose a future date, does this affect the cashback tracking?

  • +2

Sent a message to TCB. They said you can't double dip so to speak (you won't get both the gift card and the cashback)..

    • +2

Honestly, if CS convinced me i can, i would be complaining to Health insurance ombudsman and making them pay me a $375 gift card as compensation

      • Yeah totally agree with you….just wanted to pass on the information I received

  • Signed up for Hospital only. $225 tracked. Thanks OP!

    • which one you sign up for?

      • HCF, no free weeks.

        • single or family? Because it looks like ahm is giving 6 weeks free in the first year for hospital only - https://ahm.com.au/offer/8-Weeks-Free-AP-Feb-04-2025#terms

It might work out better if youre a family.

          • @cheap4321: Family. I can’t remember amh being one of available options.

            • @Ievgen: The deal I listed requires a code so will invalidate cashback.

6 weeks free is like $300 for the $230 plan so better than cashback and you don’t have the risk of it not being approved

  • It’s been almost a day and it hasn’t tracked for me

  • Can OP confirm that an insurer offering a free weeks deal will still track and pay the cash back? Many note in the T&C's that they wont combine any other offer with their promotions? Also do CTM not cover Frank insurance anymore?

    • Yes as long as you complete the whole signup online, you will get cashback.

The comparison is based on the options you provide for hospital and extras

You can also filter results to include frank only

  • Just a word of advice, have had tracking fail for car and life/income insurance with CTM via TopCashback over the past year. Thankfully was sorted out by lodging a claim for the car insurance last year, and am currently in the process of claiming the life/income insurance cashback (which seems to be progressing smoothly so far).

Always use Edge with no blocking extensions/etc and other cashback sites/retailers always work, so not sure why there always seems to be tracking issues with CTM and TCB, but don't be shocked if it takes a bit of extra legwork is all to get your cashback.

    • Good to know, I used a callback last time and it tracked fine. This time did it online through the app and it hasn't tracked, at least it showed up as a click so I can follow it up easily.

  • +1

Ever since I provided my phone number on CTM's website, I have got tons of scam robot calls saying my phone number is being suspended.
    wt….

  • -1

I wonder which is t he better deal for bupa? This one or the everyday rewards points which you can't stack with other promo offers

  • Signed up with NIB last night 20:35, no tracking as of this morning.

  • @easternculture I signed up with a fund that doesn’t have optical extras coverage mistakenly but going to stick with them anyway, coverage with them started the other day but it looks like my old Medibank coverage hasn’t finalised yet.

If I make an optical claim today with my Medibank coverage, how badly would that stuff things up?

  • I'm Primarily doing Private Health for tax reasons so have hospital and extras to what I think is a pretty basic level.

Is there any pro tips or guide around changing funds and getting the most out of these free weeks and such.

  • Seems I can't get see u in WA, but it is available in other states, the reason being "Currently we don't have policies for pregnancy, assisted reproduction, weight loss surgery, or in-hospital psychiatry", none of which I need. I'm not sure how to remove these from the search, even though that is what they suggest. I have only chosen limited cover for tax purposes anyway, so, these wouldn't be covered anyway.

  • Instead of choosing a couple's cover, can I opt for two individual covers for my wife and me and receive the cashback twice—once using her account?

  • Was anyone able to track both the cashback and the gift card? The CR assured me that the gift card would not impact the cashback from TCB.

    • Either one of the other.
You have to complete the whole transaction online to qualify for CB from TCB

      • So I lose $275 cashback for $150 gift card which I didn't want in the first place but was offered by the CR

        • Yep.
Unless you take CTM to PHI ombudsman and demand a compensation of $275 as they confirmed it

          • @easternculture: For which, I will have to wait till the cashback is tracked? I setup the PHI for tomorrow, so should I cancel it and opt for it via TCB just for the cashback?

            • +1

@DealHuntersXD: Yep. Call cancel amd reapply but call PHI you chose and let them know so you dont miss out on free weeks as they may disqualify you as being a current customer with the second policy through CTM

              • @easternculture: How long before the cashback was tracked for you?
I will cancel and reapply for a different or same plan depending on which will be easier to deal with

                • @DealHuntersXD: Once it was immediate, a few times it took between 3 to 8 weeks , but they all tracked with no intervention except submitting a missing claim

                  • @easternculture: PHI can only be canceled via call on weekdays, by which time my first debit will have already gone through. Should I draft an email to CTM requesting that the gift card and cashback be tracked instead, or is there a better way to handle this?"

      • +1

If you receive a call from Compare the Market’s call centre, they will open the original quote used via TopCashback's URL. Tracking will continue as normal provided you don't start a new quote for any reason. Note you will not qualify for both cashback and CTM gift cards (if offered). If you attempt to claim both, your cashback may be cancelled at the discretion of CTM or TCB. You are however entitled to utilise TCB's cashback and any offers your insurer of choice is offering via CTM.

        • +1

From what I understand the cashback only completes if activated from your end and completed within a timeframe and on the same device. If it's completed on another computer system, the cashback trail will be broken. The process is already pretty sensitive to things like opening other websites, clicks, etc. moving the actual completion from one computer to another would guarantee a break in the purchase chain and it technically would never track.

  • Mine has tracked. For those who've used ctm cashback before, how long does it take for the cashback to become payable? Thanks. I am planning to switch away after it has cleared

    • +1

Will be a good 3 months or so. I'm not actually sure as to how long you are required to stay signed up for. Never really looked. Also keep in mind any waiting periods on free weeks from providers. Most require you to server at least 4 weeks before the free weeks period kicks in. Some are 60 days. So keeping this in mind I'm generally with a provider for 3-4 months before my freebies have been dished out and served.

  • +1

Signed up last night with nib for the 8 free weeks and hoodie(lol). Cash back tracked within an hour or so which was good as last time It did not and I had to chase it up. So effectively $275 cash back, $450 odd in free weeks and a free hoodie. Always good to have a spare one for winter.

  • Have signed up. Waiting for tracking now.

  • +1

The Bupa offer listed in op (4weeks free + 2 weeks after 13 months) appears to be different offer & T&C to what is coming up when I run a quote on CTM (6 weeks free after 28 days). Is the later not eligible for cash back or am I missing something?

    • They may have updated the offer on CTM

    • +1

I've noticed that some offers vary between going direct to the provider as opposed to going through CTM. Usually they drop the number of free weeks, maybe to compensate for the cashback? No idea.

  • Please note that now you get 6 weeks after paying for 4 via TopCashback and compare the market.

  • Is there a way to select a plan that isn't what the options choose for you? I want Bupa Silver Plus Essential Hospital with Core Extras but no matter which options I choose it gives me flexi extras and any other hospital but the one I want.

    • I couldn't find these 2 combinations, and I don't see several other providers (like Australian Unity).

  • Signed up on 13th, hasn't tracked.
Looks like everyone else got tracking within about 10-20 minutes.
Should I cancel and do it again?

    • You could or just submit a missing cash back claim once your allowed. I had to do this last time I signed up using them.

      • Did it end up getting confirmed?
I can just foresee it - "the merchant said no, so there's nothing we can do"

        • Yeah mine did. Just took a while.

  • Interesting in signing up with Qantas Health Insurance.
    Noticed you can't double dip…
Signing up with Qantas direct on the offer I want on their site is showing 21,000 bonus Qantas points
Signing up for the same offer through Compare the Market with Qantas is showing nothing about bonus points.
Meh… 21k bonus bonus is roughly $210 in value and it will land from QF without an issue, the cashback on this is $275, thats if it tracks and pays without having to fight for it.
    Decisions.. decisions.. decisions…

    • Yes I've noticed that not all offers appears via CTM and some that do vary from the same providers website. Ie less weeks.

  • For people who have used CTM before, what’s the experience? Constantly pestered with spam calls emails etc?

    • +1

That's why you don't give mobile number. But even with email it's only a few within a week of comparing and they stop. I've never had a heavy handed experience with them.

  • I have signed up with See u by HBF but no tracking of cashback from Topcashback. Signed up on 04/03/2025 with policy starting on 28/03/2025. Have emailed topcashback but no reply yet.

  • Hi guys, to qualify for the cashback, is any extras cover sufficient? I’m only seeing this option in the results: Saver Hospital $750 Excess (Bronze Plus) and Starter Extras from See u HBF.

  • Applied for union health 4 wks + 4 wks free at 11:50 pm, tracked about 2hrs later at 2am

    • +1

Union health already applied the 4 weeks free, im good till 16/5.

So that makes it 10 months PHI cover and only paid for 2 months and got TCB CTM cashback 4 times ($200+200+ $250+$275), paid gym membership for 2 years, got $600+ contact lens + 2 dentist visits, etc

      • that is some work. Newbie to switching PHI, we were with HCF for 13 odd years, finally made move to Bupa and intend to switch more often. May I ask, how often the extra limits reset across the providers. I mean, if they all set around Jan and it carries forward then may not be much benefit from Extras point of view when switching.

        • +1

When you churn, make sure its a fund that resets limits in July (there are a few), and then churn to a fund that resets on aniversary date, then go back and churn to a fund that renews on 1 Jan and repeat. That way you can claim extras 3 times per year

          • @easternculture: sorry i didn't get Anniversary date angle. E.g. if i use BUPA before Jun 30 t use my extras, churn to fund that has limit reset in July, how does anniversary date churn fits in. Any July reset funds that you are aware of…

  • Geez that was painful. Got a call and spent over an hour with compare the market. Some things are not better done over the phone, I'm going to cancel if it doesn't track. I would definitely recommend signing up after business hours.

    • If you receive a call from Compare the Market’s call centre, they will open the original quote used via TopCashback's URL.

      • Yep, I made sure to ask her not to open a new quote. I received the tracking confirmation about an hour after finalising. Great deal if it comes through.

  • See u or Union Health? (For dental/ physio)?

Frank offer is good, but no free weeks via CTM.

    • See U are pretty basic with the extras.
Union health cover seems to be better.

      • +1

        Thanks EC!

Union Health wasn't coming up as an option on CTM.

        Worrked it out -

Set the funds you are only interested in on the right check boxes (if not, they dont even show up).

They only show the top 12 (which must have the best kick back for CTM).

I couldn't work out how to get the extras I wanted though (chose Family Extras by reading the tables via Union Health direct).

CTM must have their own extras types. Had to chose comprehensive. $20 per month more, but basically the same.

        • Correct, you have to filter the funds you are interested in

  • Question for people experienced with Health Insurance. If I signed up for a policy that waives 2 & 6 months period today. How long do I need to wait before the same benefit gets passed onto the next provider if I need to cancel my first policy.

    • The waive will continue if you are still serving the waiting periods on previous fund. If not, the waiting periods already served with previous will carry on to new fund

      • +1

Even if I sign up for a provider that waives waiting period, cancel and move across after 2 weeks?

  • Bupa Hospital + extras cover i am finding via CTM search has 6 weeks free after 28 days compare to original offer. Also the everyday reward points are not available via CTM but it is through BUPA website.
