  • Saw it on road, looks quite kool though. How is its performance? warranty?

    • +1

Performance stats in description - looks good. Warranty is six-year/150,000km.

  • It looks good, have a seal personally and if i had a family this would be my car. Less range though..

    • +11

What fish do you feed your seal?

      • +23

        Corvette Stingray

    • Its basically a jacked up version of the Seal - same platform

    • -1

At the risk of sounding racist, I don't like it's slanty headlights.

    • +2

Pricing only just announced. We will have it searchable shortly.

I'm waiting for the BYD Octopus

      BYD Pangolin releasing 2025 Q4

      • -1. That doesn't fit into their sea life theme.

      • +1

        BYD Capybara for me, thanks.

        • BYD Humptydoo is better.

        • -1

-1 for same reason as above - all their models are named after marine life. Capybara doesn't fit.

      • +1

MF you made me google BYD Pangolin lol.

    • when will byd lobster release?

      • +5

Damn bro that was a really good one.

        • M… Sticking to flathead and whiting. More affordable.

    • I am just waiting for the new Tesla model Y. :D

      • +2

        It's a beautiful vehicle… I just won't give that man my money.

  • +1

I've got a priority access link - first to message me who wants to buy can have it. I am keen to check out the car but no chance before a test drive…

  • +9

Bring the Seagull over you cowards

    • +1

this..but ancap safety minimum standards need to be met

  • Why is it called Sealion 7, and it’s a 5 seater?

    • +24

If you take that question to every car manufacturer with digits within a model name, I'd say you're quite lost.

      • +15

Checks out, my Mazda 3 only had a front driver's seat, and a rear left and middle seat.

        • +2

My mazda 2 has only the driver and passenger seat

          • +3

@bghunter: Seeking a refund on my Peugeot 4008. Far less seats than a train which I could also afford.

    • +5

Why mercedes s600 don't have seats for 600 plus a superman.

    • The 7-seater is the Sealion ….8, no joke that's what it's called.

    • +9

landcruiser 100 series has 100 seats, while 200 series comes with 200 seats

      • I think you’re lying.

        • +1

          Sherlock?

    • +1

Mazda 3 only have 3 seats

  • +15

Why is this post up? You can't buy it yet and your own website doesn't have it available for comparison. This feels more like a forum post than a bargain.

  • +13

Sorry, where is the bargain part of this? Is this an early access discounted price? This site is not an advertising site.

  • +1

    Is this a 7 seater?

    • Nah just 5 seater

      • Thanks

  • +51

So now we have media websites just brazenly comming here and posting RRP prices on cars which aren't even cheap. And on top of that shilling their own website.

Yes thats how much the quality of Ozbargain has fallen.

    • +5

From the heights of Rivers clothing & weekly, quality food deals (Dominos, Hungry Jacks, McDonalds, KFC, etc)… Truly a backward step, agreed.

    • -4

Mate, neither you or @FXx have posted / shared a deal in over 5 years 😂 I wouldn’t be getting all high and mighty about the quality if you’re not actually contributing yourself…

      • +1

Yeah, why aren’t you posting Woolies and Coles catalogue deals every week!

    • -2

Didn't you get the memo ? ozbargain had been sold to CCP </s>

    • +1

You assume there was quality to begin with

  • +2

Damn boot still looks small for the size of car it is. Very narrow and the coupe eats into it.

Would be nice if they just release the tang here

  • +20

How much is it discounted from the normal price ?

or is this just SPAM ?

    • +5

It’s called the Sealion, so tuna can makes more sense than spam

    • +6

I think you'll have to wait 6 months for the $10k discount.

      RRP is not a bargain.

If the car came with a launch discount, posting would possibly be justifiable.

    • +1

      mmm SPAM…. delicious

  • I will get few….as soon as they are out by hotwheels….

  • +26

Welcome to OzRRP Car Launch Website!

  • +2

It’s my top choice for an EV, given all other EV manufacturers are still struggling to get a foothold (Excluding Tesla)
But I hate it when paint options are $1500 or $2000 extra

    • MG and Haval doing well

      • I don't think haval has a proper EV yet. Their hybrids are excellent though.

        • Good to know. Thank you Teer3x

  • +7

New model release advertisement and RRP announcement is not a Bargain!

  • +4

Love it, Chinese EV makers naming stuff after sealife,
that way, they're up-front about 'something fishy' going on :-P

  • +11

good to see more competetion, howerver it's just a car release ad, not a deal.

  • +9

    RRP isn't a deal

  • +9

RRP is now posted as bargain and the website is not even updated. OP is looking for some traffic.

    • I tried reading this in Uncle Roger's voice…

  • +1

Why does this come in Shark grey but the shark… doesn't?

  • This or a G6 base model? Only interested in LFP chemistry until solid or semi solid state batteries are available. Or maybe I wait for potential EOFY discounts.

    • +1

You just missed out on the extended warranty bonus with G6. Wait a moment and it'll be back and/or another promotion. G6 is far better value IHMO.

  • Interesting to see what's the motivation for not having the Heated steering wheel on the "premium" variant. Such a basic function for the price bracket.

  • +1

Recycling some comments from the last Tesla post with relevant modifications.

No deal on the dictatorcar. +53

Will Xi take over my countries government if I buy this?. +29

Chairman Xi stamp of approval. +12

    Don't support Communists. +42

    • -3

If the Chinese can produce a car that's better than my Mustang GT I might be interested. Until then… no thanks.

      • +1

Better in what way? What's the benchmark you're going to use?

        • Better all round sports car - coupe body style, similar or better performance, good value for money, etc.

          • +6

@Mr Bob Dobalina: A BYD Seal Performance will walk your Mustang on the quarter mile all day long while costing $15k less, and AWD with a low centre of gravity means it will probably handle corners just as nicely.

A Tesla Model 3 Perfomance is even faster, but it's fairly similar in price to the Mustang so it's less of a bargain. Technically it's a Chinese-made car, despite being designed in the US.

They're both 4 door sedans rather than a coupe though, and they lack the lovely brm brm noises.

I've taken a Mustang GT for a spin and it's definitely a nice place to spend time. I would call it much more of a grand tourer than a sports car - it's a bit heavy for that.

      • already done sorry your Mustang is irrelevant, coupes are not practical but we will get there eventually

    • waiting for comment since DT wants to take over Gaza.

  • Keen price.. but it's RRP.
Give it 6 months, and they'll start with the actual discounts.

  • +4

Looks like a promo for your own website, should be banned.

  • +1

What’s the bargain here? Discount from RRP?

  • Any 7 seater version in the BYD?

  • Glad they fired the seat interior designer from the previous models.

  • +4

    This makes no sense.

Make sure to post a deal when apple releases their next iphone at RRP

    • +1

Make sure to post a deal when apple releases their next iphone at RRP

      Someone will…

  • +3

So …. no deal then? Why is this post even here?

  • +3

RRP. Come back hen you have a deal.

    • +2

      Come back hen

Go a Kia EV5 instead. Sure it's made in China with BYD batteries, but at least some money flows back to a democratic country

    • +1

      some money

Not all ? In that case, buy this, some of the money stays in Australia.

    • +4

I'm guessing you haven't been keeping up to date with South Korean politics?

    • +1

You mean the owner or the dog on a leash? Neither of them is a democratic country.

    • The Kia only has a 360 camera in the top GT line which is $75k crazy that it doesn’t have it in the base model in this day and age

  • RRP isn't a deal. This isn't OzRRP advertising

  • no deal just rrp

  • -1

Just more BYD spam at RRP. No deal.

  • Another Ozadvertising post.

  • RRP - not a deal.
