Good deal. There is $300 cashback from Canon so go for the lens kit even if you dont need lens. Claim $300 from Canon and sell lens for about $800. Body then works out even cheaper at $1750.

    • thought about doing this, claiming TRS back as well, but honestly IMO not worth the hassle (already have a 24-105 so bringing it overseas to claim TRS wont be an issue)

    • How can I get the cashback? Is it only available if we buy the 24-105 Kit?

      Oh I've found the information.

It's obvious that we have to buy the lens kit to get the cashback, and DigiDirect is listed as an authorised retailer. Sounds clear, thanks!

Ah, may I ask one more thing? You recommended me to sell the lens if I don't want to use that. Where do you think the best place to sell that? ebay? (Sorry for being off-topic slightly.)

List it on Gumtree for abit (no seller fees) if you get no bites put it on eBay, they're going for about ~800.

        I also did the numbers:
        BODY + LENS: $2850

        Canon cash back: $300

        $2550
        + TRS: $285
        = $2265
= Bargain for Australian stock (Grey imports are going for about 2700)

If you sell the lens you're paying 1465 for the body.

        Thanks OP!

        EDIT: SITE IS DOWN BTW

        • TRS is $259.09, not $285

          $2850 / 11 = $259.09

        • Exactly!! $2250-2300 is a bargain for Aus stock with warranty and lens. Or sell the lens on eBay/Gumtree. Even if the price drops on 6D in next 6-12 months, you would have the camera today for that price.

  • Slightly off topic, can anyone recommend a website to learn about lenses (perhaps with photographs that demonstrate the differences).
