I feel like getting it now just for this feature.

        • I did.

It’s my favourite thing to show new parents haha

    • That's a really cool Easter egg…

    • It does and I was excited when I tried it at my friend’s house and showed him… then I saw it in the shop and realised it basically tells you that it works on the box.

    • Can confirm it does.
I bought one for my daughter 4 years ago.

      "You win!"

this is the new Switch 2 controller

Trust me, babies don't go for toy versions of stuff. They will seek out and find the real thing 😂

    • Can confirm, mine goes for every other controller in the house except this one.

Putting a bundle together for a mate's first child. Adding one of these! My kids loved the remote control. Silly sounds and we didn't mind it going in the mouth.

Hand the controller to your mate with a kindly “got something for you too”

got 1 at home, bought 3+ years ago, both my toddler and pre-kinder still playing it today, good for mobility, learn finger movement etc

I'm one of those who thinks kids should read books instead of playing games or having their nose in a tablet all day

    • +3

      Agreed.
But at some point they have to interact with other kids. Not knowing video games and TV shows can impact on ability to form friendships

      • I don't mind if they play video games etc at their friends' places but do their reading at home. There is no way for books to compete with video games otherwise.

        • You can do both at home, i did.
You just have to limit screen time. Some educational-ish games like minecraft are great for creativity. Gaming improved my English scores significantly.

As for the social aspect, playing at a friend's place wont cut it when everyone talks about the fortnite game they played together on Saturday.

But this isn't a game controller. It's a toy says which button you're pressing. It could help them learn a few letters, numbers, colours and shapes. It has nothing to do with iPad kids…

While that’s fine and I respect your opinion, why post in a bargain thread like this then?

It’s like posting in a deal about meat and saying you’re not going to buy it because you’re a vegetarian.

Be warned. Years later I still resent my friend a little for buying this for my kid.

    • Uh, Why?

      • +2

It is fairly loud (although probably not in the scheme of kids toys). It does have 2 volume levels, so you could possibly block the switch from going past LOW.

          1 2 3 4 UP GOES YOUR SCORE….

  • is this compatible with ps5 ?

  • nintendo yxba vs xbox xyab wasn't bad enough, we need to introduce abcd- thanks Fisher-Price.
1234 for left up right down? shocking.

Those kids are gonna be stunted for life in their controller usage habits.
