I bought this today. It has a pink top so maybe that's why it's cheap. Still $100 less than any other I could find. I can deal with pink for $100 less.
Most of the scrapers on the street corner charge less for the pink than the brown, so it makes sense

How does this compare to a Kitchenaid Artisan? Sorry, I don't really know anything about mixers :\
On Amazon this gets better reviews over all because the KitchenAid has an issue with the motor burning out. I think the KA has more attachments but they are similar in terms of quality and power.
Comparing a breville to a kitchenaid is like comparing a ford falcon to an aldi a4. The ford is not the cheapest around, but is mid range. Parts and repairs also easy to come by. But in the end, the a4 will be a better drive.
I was looking at mixers for the mrs for christmas and went with the kitchenaid deal that was posted here from harrods. The kitchenaid has A LOT of extra attachments such as can openers, posts makers, grinders etc and is more solid.
If you read forums, kitchenaid owners swear by them. In the end, I got the kitchenaid for $450 which was the same as what I could hey the breville for at the time. It was a bit of a no brainer given the similar prices.
