DocuSign While Oveseas to Bypass Geo Block

I will need to eSign documents (https://www.docusign.com/) while overseas (China). It was confirmed DocuSign will geo-block it.

Are there any way to bypass the geo-block? Is it actually blocked by DocuSign or the other party? Would talk to any parties to resolve it?

Would VPN service help?

  • Try downloading the Opera browser, it has a built-in free VPN for light use.

    • Your IP will appear to be Netherlands or Sweden, not sure if that will help here

Most VPNs don't work in China. If you have data roaming on your Australian sim, or purchase an airalo (or similar) esim, you bypass the Chinese firewall on mobile data completely. You can then use a VPN to possibly fix the geo block.

    • Probably don't need a VPN, if you use international roaming you will have an Australian IP address.

I used amaysim in China and was able to access cashrewards and flybuys websites, which typically block you if they detect you aren't in Aus

    • tried before with tail scale. it may seem to work initially, but then it won't.
      the gfw is self learning.

      1.1.1.1 / cloudflare warp won't work.
      nor will apple private relay.
even if you had a private vps that uses a known vpn protocol, that will be blocked quickly as well.

  • I needed to sign some docusign docs whilst in Korea. My broker contacted the Agent who contacted the Docusign team. They did something in the back end of their system to remove the geo-block so that I could sign whilst overseas.

If the documents are in PDF files, usually I just use Adobe Reader app to sign and fill details, then save it and send it back. It's free to sign and fill details/form in PDF files in Adobe Reader app. Usually I block data connection for Adobe Reader app.

Could the sender send the documents as PDF files?
