What does your school require? I would have thought battery life would be a key spec
I think they need 7 hours battery life?
Nice screen!! Harvey N specs say 2.4kg. I was going to say too heavy, but surely an error??!
Nah 2.4kg is wrong, definitely lighter

Will always suggest an ex-corp refurb if yr 7 and upgrading if necessary later down the track (yr 10 onwards)

What does the school advise you need?
It’s such a long specs list, but no more than 14”. 8Gb 256SSD using Chrome. How are the Microsoft Laptop go ?
Screen is too small, your kid will be straining their eyes imo
Unfortunately they say max is 14”
@Mini eye: Yeah the surface laptop to is 12.5" which is why I made that comment
Definitely find a 14", that's the sweet spot imo

Check with HP & Dell Back to school options. I reached out to them and finally settled for HP ProBook 435 x360 G10 13.3" AMD Ryzen 5 |16GB|256SSD last year.
I got free wireless mouse and keyboard and cheap insurance for screen breakage, liquid spill for 3 years. Costed me approx $1500
