Have you ever had this advertised for $2490 and made a sale? Your normal price was $1350 on this for the majority of last year:

    • nice pickup - good bargaining tool :)

Apologies for the "you" and "your", figured you were associated but never even looked - didn't realise you weren't.
I think they always have "mega discounts" advertised but never actually sell at full price …

Looking at the wayback machine, it was the same price in all four snapshots taken last year, in May, September and twice in October.

I don't think there's a big need to rush out and buy it.

  • I bought one of these with headboard about 9 months back, yakka Luna.
I’m not sure this is a “bargain”, these have been permanently at this price since they first popped up in my targeted marketing. RRP means nothing.

That being said, they are good value. They are extremely well made (some models locally) and are solid! Even the slats are 20-30mm thick. Way better built than the rubbish in the likes of snooze, freedom, 40 winks etc. worth every penny.

    Ouch my shins!

  • https://quokkabeds.com.au/ ..I bought a bed from them because they are made in Oz with Oz sourced wood and come with a lifetime warranty. When I got it I was a bit disappointed since it looked like ikea furniture, except worse, less than 10 bolts for the entire bed, rest you just place the pieces in designated slots … guess what 2 years down the road .. the bed looks plain as but not a rattle or squeak ..I have another hand made old school bed with marble inserts that I bought used…. the company that makes it is still around and the bed costs a tonne of money and looks the part , the headboard is so heavy it takes two grown men to move it and the quokka bed feels just as planted just does not look as flash .. local wood, local engineering, local business ..even if it costs more it pays for itself … Dont have any idea about this mob but thought I'll post my experience here ..price is not always the best metric for better value ..except if you pay the price make sure you get a lifetime warranty

    • if you pay the price make sure you get a lifetime warranty

      • 100% Solid Timber – No veneer or plyboard – Lifetime Structural Warranty

I have …. Lifetime warranty against any break/squeak, including all delivery fees for 2 years. After this, only delivery/callout fees apply vs "structural" warranty .. 100% solid timber from Australia ? Made in Australia ? You decide..

        • yes, they're the same - sorry, not sure what you're trying to imply?

          • -1

@tonester: No specific point bud not trying to promote or diss a particular brand.. just pointed out the wordings on my warranty against this product …if you reckon that is the same thing then good for you..

            • @shaidas: no worries, your contribution is appreciated - indeed, i might've bought a quokka bed myself with their mattress had they been customisable - but if you're going to compare, then you should perhaps indicate differences more precisely if not accurately

              • -2

@tonester: Not comparing, do not want to take the trouble kid.. just trying to help others.. not paid to compare ..you do you as you should..me tries to help which I should not but I do anyways ..don't take it personally ..I will never ever take that much trouble of comparing one product against another.. helping is trouble enough but thanks for the advice

                • +2

@shaidas: sure, but if you’re not comparing, then what is

pointed out the wordings on my warranty against this product

if you’re going to make a statement or implication, then it would be good for you to support it :)

  • As others have said - their sales are fake, but prices are good.

Their AU made stuff is higher quality than the imported stuff - but none of their products are as high quality as the Melbourne artisanal furniture stores.

But, they're half the price. It's a case of you get what you pay for.

They're definitely not worth the RRP they specify - you can get significantly higher quality, handmade furniture for their RRP. But, I doubt they ever actually sell at the listed RRPs. You can consider these sale prices their actual RRP.

  • How do these compare to a SD Indestruct Bed?

    • Both are good but depends what you are looking for (I looked into SD also when bed shopping).
SD is a mix of veneer and steel, Acacia is solid wood.
SD put a lot of emphasis into C-spine support beam. Not sure if this is a solution to a problem that doesn’t exist with a solid bed frame and good mattress?
      SD is $2000 vs $1750.
Personally I couldn’t pay more for a veneer frame vs a solid frame.

  • Ordered from them once it took 5 months to arrive. Would not recommend.

    • :( was it made to order?

      • Nope. It was an import from vietnam.
They said it was out of stock only after I ordered it and said that it would arrive the following month (surprise, it didnt).
The worst part is they still had the product listed as "in stock" on the website during the whole 5 months we were waiting ..

        • fortunately this isn’t an import, nor made to order :)

I find shipping too expensive so gave up..

    • Can pickup from warehouse for free if in Melbourne. But I agree, $250 delivery anywhere outside of Victoria is a bit much.

  • Thank you for the idea OP. After seeing this I removed the legs from under my Zinus timber bed and replaced them with hidden bricks. It now looks like an awesome floating bed!
