  • Shipping is a flat $28.75 through eBay

No, it is not flat rate shipping.

Just incredible how much prices've dropped

thanks, i'll avoid eating the battery

    • Wait till you hear about mortality rates amongst drivers and motorcyclists

    • You're one of those scared of dihydrogen monoxide as well right?

  • ebay has 100Ah LFP battery for $180, this is not a good deal I reckon

    • Link?

      • I can't find a 100Ah lithium battery for $180 anywhere, unless shipping is another ~$50. You could get this for $219.

If you take the $159 / 60 Ah * 100 Ah, you'd pay $250 for an equivalent at the rate of my post.

        Downsides:
        • You have to fork out an extra $50 for 40Ah you may not necessarily need.
        • You don't have a physical store you can visit if you have issues.
        • You have to lug around ~65% more weight.

        This deal isn't purely $ / Ah. It's about a cheap, portable solution =)

    • Where's the link mate!

      Depends on your use case.

When I posted the original deal with the box, I was intending to give people a cheaper option with more power than the 36Ah Power Pack, but still very portable. Then the battery by itself went on sale so I posted that too.

You can definitely get more Ah per buck, but then the use case changes. 100Ah is too heavy to want to carry very far.

  • Most importantly 2 can be Paralleled.
For a budget setup, could probably run a 1000w inverter [Induction cooktops for camping go well with cast iron] and charge off 2x cheap dcdc chargers instead of high output one.
Good for a DIY project but not a bargain I rekon

  • Good deal if you just need something small or something to just last the night.

The 100Ah battery is slightly better value per Wh at the moment at $239.

$219 after $20 JANAUTO code on eBay ;)

    • Who can comment on the quality of Kings batteries?

I run an Adventure Kings Reviews & Support group on Facebook. Can't give you a link or the specific name as I believe that's against OzB rules, but I see this question A LOT. And yet, I've not seen any complaints about their batteries so far.

Lots of complaints about their fridges, gazebos, tents, and all manner of other products, but their batteries seem to in line with market expectations.

These can be connected in series, so you could make a handy power pack of 60Ah @ 24v with two batteries, to effectively recharge any portable power station with ~ 1500Wh of energy, before losses. 24v is good for this.

  • This versus a Optima Marine D34M battery with 55AH?

Went with the Optima because it was installed in the engine bay. Now that isn't a requirement, would it be worth changing to a lithium like this?

    • If you've already got a working battery, then there's no reason to change it :)

      • That is an AGM battery. You cannot discharge them all the way to 0. The LiFePO4 battery will get you more useful capacity.

        • That's true, but the AGM is being used as a starter.

If you want auxiliary power then it makes sense to add this lithium battery as an auxiliary, but it doesn't make much sense to throw away a working starter.

          • @besttechadvisor: Sorry I failed to mention that the second battery for me is not as a backup starting battery, but purely to operate a fridge and other AC appliances.

            • @specwarop: Then, yes, a lithium battery would be perfect for that. Lithium weighs much less than an AGM, lasts many more cycles, and has about twice the usable capacity.

Whether 60Ah is enough depends on how big your fridge is, whether it's 12V or 240V, how often the battery is being recharged, etc.
