  • This or lite shock sport?

    • C-Lite is heavier and stronger than Lite Shock.

    • This. Stronger than lite shock sport and I prefer the handle on C-Lite.

    • +3

Haven't had either so can talk about quality. Size very similar, C-Lite a bit lighter.

      Lite-Shock Sport
      Dimension: 81.0 x 55.0 x 33.0 cm
      Volume: 124L
      Weight: 2.8kg

      C-Lite
      Dimension: 81.0 x 55.0 x 34.0 cm
      Volume: 123L
      Weight: 3.1kg

  • I'd rather go for the 75cm versions. Lighter and you should easily be able to fit 25kg of luggage

    • I have both 75cm and 81cm of Lite shock and C-Lite; most of the time the 75cm ones cannot fit in 23kg of luggage. The 81cm ones are just okay.

      • Which is your favourite?

        • c-lite is better with the double handle, the handle is longer too

      • What about 23kg of bricks?

As much as I'd love this, i prefer Book Open style suitcases.
Make easier to open anywhere without taking up space, at airports etc.

    • does samsonite do any book open ones? All I see is american tourister

      • I've got an american tourister and Lojel, Curio BO, does the job and affordable

Any recommendations on carry on suitcase? Is the upscape line any good? https://www.theiconic.com.au/upscape-spinner-55cm-exp-181185…

    Or this Nuon one?
    https://www.theiconic.com.au/nuon-spinner-55cm-exp-1860947.h…

    • Upscape Spinner 55cm EXP Is better material and lighter and cheaper

    $1000 RRP for a suitcase?

    • Luggage is always discounted at 40% off during sales so the “RRP” has to be high.

      • The Harris Scarfe technique (also dubiously legal)

  • +1

Damn, can't believe I missed this! Such an impressive suitcase

They price matching iconic, giving it a pass because it is classified as over$ized luggage by Qantas and many others

    • Forgive the silly question, but what makes it so good? I picked up an American Tourister 81cm during black Friday for about half this price. Used it for a trip away at the beginning of this year and it was great, there's nothing more I could think I'd want from luggage that size, so I'm not sure what I'm missing.

      • +2

Ultralight weight and durability for the size.

        • The difference is apparently 600g, but the Tourister has a larger volume. Of the 2 I’d take the extra space, but I guess that 600g could be important to someone.

Durability I guess I’ll just see. They both appear to have the same 10yr warranty, but at 2 or trips a year maybe I don’t use it enough to need the durability.

      • You are missing about 1kg of luggage you cannot take because of the difference in weight of the bag itself. For some that is worth the extra $100-150 over the 10 year life of a suitcase.

I don't find the difference much use in larger bags where I often get extra luggage allowance anyway, but for carry-on that is often limited to 7kg the ultra light cases are really worth it. For the 75cm bags also worth it when I am trying to stay under 23kg limits in economy class so I don't have to pay for extra luggage allowance.

        • Difference is a touch under a kg, but I guess if that’s critical then it makes a difference. Even with the extra volume that the Tourister had vs this, I was only hitting 21kg with it loaded up, but granted that was mostly clothes.

For carry on I absolutely get it, just couldn’t see much difference in these bigger ones.

      • Can you share link which you bought?

American Tourister Light Max 82cm. Paid $155 delivered.

4kg vs 3.1kg, so 900g heavier, but it also has a 144L capacity vs the 123L on the Samsonite, so depends on your needs I guess.

  • Great prices on the other sizes too. Just picked up another 75cm

  • Thanks for the heads up, I went and look to see that they were selling the American Tourister Curio Book Opening hardcase. This one is nice as the opening is on one side, so you can fill it up to the top, not common for a hard case. Usually it is the fabric suitcases that have the opening on one side.

I think this is a price error and they are addressing them now. I can still add the item in the cart but there is no more additional 40% off

    • Same, was about to check out and it changed. I even redeemed a gift card so now stuck with a bunch of iconic credit :(

    • Same. I'm about to check out and the price at check out is different.

    • Same, the discount is still displayed now and not out of stock. When added to cart it displays a higher price for all items. Was spending 30-45 minutes adding things to cart to then figure out there is no extra 40% discount.

    • Yup, I snoozed and loosed!

  • The cart is showing up as a different price.

Is there a price error or…?

    • +1

This was a price error and seems like Samsonite are honouring the orders

  • Anyone received the confirmation email or cancellation email?

    • Bought this luggage bag as well as the leather backpack - luggage bag got dispatched, no news for the backpack
