Ozito PXC 18V 4.0Ah Compact Battery PPBP-240 - Twin Pack $89 + Delivery ($0 In-Store/ C&C/ OnePass) @ Bunnings

1800

New compact 4.0Ah batteries. I don't know whether this a promotional deal, introductory or permanent, but still a decent price for 2 x 4.0Ah batteries at $89. Especially considering the smaller form factor and slightly lighter weight.

These appear to be a completely new battery and there is no mention of them being sealed.

Looking at Einhell's site, these are called Plus and put out the same 900W as the standard double row 4.0Ah battery. Probably running 21700 cells.

Decent stock levels but not available in all stores.

And for the inevitable Bunnings website weirdness here is the stock number I/N: 0738791 and an alternative search https://www.bunnings.com.au/search/products?page=1&q=ozito+p…

For more info on the battery, here is a link to Einhell's page. https://www.einhell.hr/en/p/4511553-18v-4-0ah-power-x-change…

    • Ask geekcohen as I am pretty sure he has a couple of Ozito vacs. He has posted here up above.

    • good thing about makita is you can buy copies of their skins and takes the same batteries,

  • +2

Is this Normal RRP or is this actually a special introductory price?

    • +2

I went to pick up a set today and it comes up as a promo on their scanner

  • i got the previous gen 2 pack, still unopened. hope this makes me qualified ozbargainer

    • Just need some time for the new version to price match the old version?

  • I suspect pouch cells. from all the discussion for larger 100ah batteries (prismatic vs pouch), pouch cells are inferior. I wonder if that extends to 18650 cells normally in these?

    • +2

Definitely not pouch cells. Click on the link to Einhell at the bottom of the post and scroll across the pics, shows 5 cylindrical cells, hence my guess at 21700 cells.

      • oh cool! guess it maybe ok then!

      • My guess is also 21700s since they already use them in the larger batteries (ie. 8Ah)
        There's 21700 cells that are above 5Ah so 4Ah cells isn't a surprise.

Not sure what the largest 18650 is but last I checked they more or less reached the maximum (under 4Ah)

  • The hikoki battery adaptor for my Dyson arrived today and I'm less than impressed with the fit. Very wobbly and feels like it's gonna fall out as I'm vacuuming. I might try my luck on Ozito but may have to buy a separate charger

    • +1

I bought an Ozito adapter for our Dysons from Vacuum Spares (Ebay, not their website) and it's a perfect fit. About $38 from memory, and worth every cent.

      • Can you please share which one you have. I’m struggling to find one for the gen5detect

    • To my surprise my V8 absolute battery from 6 years ago is still going strong! Cleans a family of 4, with a long haired dog and having two kids born in said 6 year period. Still using it almost daily!

  • +1

Been using these for my dyson v10 this week. Works well.

    • Can I buy these for my V8?

    • Which adapter did you use?

I was also under the impression the V10 was a 6S pack so the 5S of the Ozitos would be a bit lower voltage (not that a brushless motor minds that much). Curious to see if you've noticed a power drop at all.

  • It is so refreshing to see Einhell quote actual power figures (900W) for their batteries.
Most tool manufacturers only provide Voltage and battery capacity (Ah) which makes it impossible to compare.

I'm keen to try their 8Ah (1350W) battery some day.

    • +5

Yes it is nice to have an idea of what the battery is capable of.

I have posted this on prior thread but its a good reminder of the differences in the battery outputs.

Specs for power output in watts on the batteries from Einhells website.

      2.0AH 450 watts.
      2.5AH 720 watts
      4.0AH 900 watts
      5.2AH 1260 watts
      6.0AH 1350 watts
      8.0AH 1350 watts

      The new sealed batteries.
      3.0AH 900 watts
      4.0AH 900 watts.

The 4.0AH battery in this post is 900 watts.

      • Great list! I can't wait to try a 5-8Ah in my lawn mower some day. Should be a 50% power boost!

  • Seems $129 will be regular price

I am looking for the ozito receipricating saw on special that will need the batteries, but will look for a deal with Charger.

I have an OZITO power drill from years ago I dont think compatible with this PXC range..

  • +2

Highly recommend going with 5Ah batteries if possible due to the higher peak output which can drive things like leaf blowers harder.

    • Do you mean the Ozito 5.2Ah?
      Or just 5.0Ah in general?

    • +1

A shoutout to @Lululuke for his kindness and generosity in sending me a spare charger for the cost of postage.

I've now started my Ozito obsession and purchased these batteries and a leaf blower.

  • Hi guys. After a bit of advice, please.

I have the Ozito compact charger and 2.5Ah battery that came with Ozito's XPXC 18V cordless 13mm drill driver kit. I bought an adapter enabling our 2 Dyson vacuum cleaners (both picked up off nearby verges after being discarded) to be powered by the Ozito 2.5Ah battery. Only one of the verge vacuum cleaners had a battery - a Dyson original - and it conked out a few months down the track. Obviously, it's a pain only having one battery between 2 vacuum cleaners and the drill! Would these new compact 4.0Ah batteries be appropriate for the Dysons, or do you reckon they would be too heavy?

The 2.5Ah Ozito battery doesn't last that long, but it's better than the original Dyson battery! Could do with the extra power and longevity of the 4.0Ah batteries, as long as they don't make the Dysons appreciably heavier in use. Would this deal be a good buy in my situation do you think?

    • +1

The rough weights are on the website.

      2Ah: 0.4kg (2.5Ah should be roughly same)
      4Ah: 0.65kg

  • I can only see $129. Has the deal expired?

    • Clicked on the deal and it still shows $89 for me.

  • I just click on the deal, it showed "Oops! This product is no longer available.", then went to a big page, showing the item is $129. Maybe you are showing the cache.

    • Nope. Just tried a different browser. Try: https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-pxc-18v-4-0ah-compact-batt….

However… adding it to the cart shows "Out of Stock"

I then installed the DuckDuckGo browser and searched for (and found) the product ID: 0738791 but, again, "Out of Stock" at the various postcodes I fed into the "Find a Store" function. It appears Bunnings needs to either delete that listing or replenish stock.

Also, the $89 version "Ozito PXC 18V 4.0Ah Compact Battery PPBP-240 - Twin Pack" is red in colour, and the $129 version "Ozito PXC 18V 4.0Ah Battery Twin Pack PXTBP-240" has a different Product ID (0590313) and is grey and red in colour.
