$674 if you click on price beat button with good guys.

Cheap, but only 4.5 star, 307.00 kWh /y

Will cost hundreds of dollars extra in power bills over its life compared to even a 5.5 star .

      Fact check…

'The actual difference in power costs between a 4.5-star and a 5.5-star 417-litre refrigerator in Australia is likely not as dramatic as implied. Let’s break it down:

      1. Energy Consumption:

      A 4.5-star refrigerator uses 307 kWh/year.

A 5.5-star refrigerator might use around ~250 kWh/year (estimated, as the exact figure depends on the model).

      1. Electricity Cost in Australia:

Average electricity costs in Australia range from 25 to 35 cents per kWh (depending on the state and tariff).

Using an average of 30 cents/kWh:

      The 4.5-star refrigerator costs 307 × 0.30 = $92.10/year.

      The 5.5-star refrigerator costs 250 × 0.30 = $75.00/year.

      1. Cost Difference Over 10 Years:

      Difference in energy costs per year: $92.10 - $75.00 = $17.10.

      Over 10 years: $17.10 × 10 = $171.00.

So, while there is a difference in energy costs, it’s unlikely to amount to “hundreds of dollars” over the refrigerator's lifetime unless the price difference between star ratings is significantly greater than estimated. Additionally, refrigerators with higher star ratings often cost more upfront, which may offset the energy savings."

I estimated $20 / year, and the fridge I just replaced was at least 15 years old and still going strong, hence $300 in my head.

You seem to have been shot spot on 👍. Knowing the $200 extra expense may help deciding to buy a bit more expensive fridge you like better 😎

$647 if you have TGG commercial.

  • Is it normal for a Hisense fridge to hover around 13-15C when the temp is set pretty low?

    • -1

It is if you don't stop opening the door every five minutes, kids!

      • +1

I've monitored overnight, only drops to 12…. not very happy. That's the work fridge. My Samsung at home chills at 6C all day.

I have tried turning down the temp, unfortunately it freezes soda cans and makes them explode

        • Sounds like a faulty thermostat. 6c to -1c is a big jump.

        • How do you monitor your fridge temp mate @jack d price?

    • +3

My Hisense fridge doesn't maintain the set temperature either. Not happy with it.

Yeah was a fan problem with our fisher paykel. So open the fridge and hit the light switch/the one that door closes on. Should be able to hear a fan activate. Fan was $37 delivered and their option was $200 w/call-out fee. Thermostat went couple months after…

    • +1

Yea they're crap, nothing to do with door opening etc..

  • +6

Great price. I bought it for around $870.

Not too happy with this fridge as when the outside temperature is over 25 C, it doesn't maintain the inside temperature. I.e. it's set to 3C, but inside it'll be 6-9 C. If I don't open the door at all it'll drop to 4.5 C in the best case scenario. Tested it with a special fridge thermometer. Works fine on cooler days.

It also makes a bit of a high pitched noise which is fine if the fridge is in a separate room but if it's right next to the TV/living room it'll be annoying.

Lodged a support case twice with Hisense warranty online but they never got back to me.

    • Thanks for heads up, not suitable for the tropics then…

  • -2

i dont think black is a good look for most kitchens

  • Fairly average reviews with many reporting a high pitched noise 🫠
