LG RoboKing Robotic Vacuum (VR5942L) $398 at Harvey Norman

20

This model seems to be only available at HN. Found some information about the model itself from Germany http://www.lgblog.de/2012/11/28/punktlich-zu-weihnachten-die… (link is in German).

$398 seems like a good price for the LG Roboking, all other models are almost double.

Salesrep told me that these shouldn't be on the website yet as they are supposed to be for the boxing day sales. However, because it is on the website they are selling early.

This is my first ozbargain post. Hope I followed the rules.

why is this a bargain? how much is it discounted from the normal price?

JV I thought it fell into the bargain category due to the fact that you can't get another roboking for anywhere near this price.

I realise that HN are the only one that sell this particular model here in Aus and therefore it cannot be compared with anything else, therefore it's hard to judge….but thought it should be posted on here regardless.

I was told that it was a 'sale' price, but who knows with HN.

If I've missed the point of what constitutes a bargain I'm happy to remove it.

        If I've missed the point

        you've missed the point…

just because something is exclusive to HN, doesn't make it a bargain. Especially if its selling at their normal price.

        • Not their normal price. Clearly states down the bottom of that link that it is a 'special price'

they've been selling it at the 'special price' for a while now… How much was it before the 'special price'?

The Skynet Funding Bill is passed. The system goes on-line August 4th, 1997. Human decisions are removed from strategic defense. Skynet begins to learn at a geometric rate. It becomes self-aware at 2:14 a.m. Eastern time, August 29th. In a panic, they try to pull the plug.

    I'll pass, thanks.

    • Probably the most epic comment I've seen on OzBargain.

    What a stupid expensive idea

  • I have imported a NEATO Robotics Vaccum from the US about 9 months ago and it does the upstairs (carpeted). It is actually very good and the amount of stuff that it picks up is quite astonishing. Does its own thing then returns to base unit for charging. I am not sure if this is one of those random movement units but they are not as bad as they are made out to be.

  • I own the Samsung NaviBot, and am very happy with it. The floor is always spotless, without me having to do any manual work. :)

Don't like LG gear though. They are cheap for a reason.

    • But not for $1000 right?

      • I didn't pay retail. A friend who works for Samsung purchased it for me ~8 months ago. I recall it setting me back ~$660.

  • it's been taken down from the website.
