DJI Osmo Action 4 Standard Combo $339 Delivered @ DJI Official Store eBay

460
HGJAN25

Original Coupon Deal

Also offering the DJI Pocket 3 Creator Combo for $100 off at $1028

Would it be better value getting this, buying the Mic Mini Duel Kit and Osmo Action Mini Extension Rod, would work out around $700

Have seen great reviews on both, however seems the pocket 3 has had issues with rotating screen.

Thoughts?

  • Thanks for sharing, went snorkeling last week and wish I had something like this!
Can anyone recommend a good strap for it?

    • +1

Get the combo that has the float handle and that is pretty good.

      • Will look for something similar but cheaper.

        • check Amazon for cheaper action cameras

        • +1

just beware that some cheap float handles fill with water if you dive down when snorkeling. I've had to throw a few in the bin on holidays

EDIT: The GoPro floaty handle has had no issues

        • I bought a cheaper one for my action 3. Works great, but I can't remember where I got it! Just google, it'll come up.

For snorkelling I'd recommend a longer pole for capturing videos of sea life (Dolphins, Seals ect..)

Having the extra length just means you can get the camera up closer without you needing to get much closer

      • +2

With longer poles, I haven't seen any that are (1) not made from metal, so it will rust - unlike the plastic handles and also (2) definately won't float, I've read reviews of ones that claim to float but never actually due. (3) Will have to press the button first, then extend pole under water to capture shots? Not really practical.

So in theory, yes a longer pole for snorkeling means you can get better shots up close but in reality, I can't see it happening. Happy to be proven wrong. I've used both GoPro and DJI with float handles, and have a separate extension pole but never use it under water. It's made from metal.

I have used the DJI selfie stick underwater. It is made of aluminium it isn't going to rust. Just rinse and dry after you are done.

Tip: You can use the DJI selfie stick as a water pistol. Load by extending the stick underwater, aim and then collapse the stick and you will get a good stream of water throught the 1/4 screw home on the bottom.

I'm using the Insta360 which is made of aluminium which should really rust, as long as you are rinsing the salt water off after use and give it a quick pat down to dry.

Meh, needing it to float isnt a deal breaker. Just don't drop it, use a wrist strap. Could always add some floats to the wrist strap

Pressing of the button on my 114cm pole (😉) isn't too bad, I just pull my arms back and can reach the button while swimming. My partner also had not had any issues using it and she is smol.

Either way, my recommendation still stands. I wouldn't have been able to get some of the great shots without a longer pole. The drawbacks you mentioned are something I am willing to put up with

    • I got this one for my just past Bali trip. Went for sea walking and not a single water get in. Pretty decent

      • Which one is for the DJI?

  • Do your research. I got the action 5 pro for a reason…Had a GoPro but will never go back, especially for low light and water shots, battery life and video compression.

But if you mainly record for bike riding during the day with sunlight, then just get the cheapest GoPro 12 or Action 4.

    • I've used both Action 4 and 5 and can't find much difference in low-light to be honest. What's your experience with the Action 4?

      • +1

I had the GoPro before, so Action 5 takes much better low light shots and better sensor than GoPro. When you look for comparison videos on IG between Hero13 and Action5 you'll see less saturation, hue on Action5 and better HDR.

From research Action 4 has a smaller sensor, so technically and spec wise low light shots would be better with Action5 but may not be noticeable to the eye with the onboard post processing.

        • +1

Yes definitely agreed, the DJIs now blow the GoPros out of the water at the same pricepoint!

  • I'm just looking at this for hyperlapses, is the 5 much different to the 4 in that respect…or will the 4 perform fine. Thanks

    • +2

For low light hyperlapses i'd suggest action 5 or pocket 3, during day time you wouldnt notice much difference

Honestly, I can't recommend DJI anymore. I've been with DJI since Action 3 and aside from being roped in by fake filmfluencers, the DJI has a really bad sensor. Just take a look at these myriad of posts:

    Poor indoor quality

    Center-focus fishbowl lens blurring effect

    Poor outdoor quality

Poor motor motion action processing quality

I've encountered all these same issues in my experience. There are many more posts on the topic. Never again. Sticking with either GoPro or Insta for now.

My experience with DJI Aciton 4 and Pocket 3 have been quite different. I have been getting excellent video with both of them. With action 4, just don't hold the camera too close. It has fixed focus and can't focus on anything close. I hold it at an arms length and have been getting good quality videos.

      • What would you recommend out of the two for creating vertical video? Is it worth spending extra for P3?

        • +3

Pocket 3 for everything that doesn't need a waterproof camera.

      Poor indoor quality(reddit.com)

someone said it's due to high frame rate

  • The videos are bad in low light.

  • Price shows $449 for me after the coupon.
Think the deal may be over.

    • Yep unfortunately : (

  • Same 449 ebayplus

  • +1

Amazon have it still for $359 - must of been limited stock deal as it now gone back to full price like JB..
