I have the 2nd gen version of this device. Much better and hides away nicely imo. Just a little USB dongle that plugs in and hides away.
Can this work with any Fujitsu Air conditioner? Also how do you install these?
Was anyone able to find the compatibility list for this on the Fujitsu site? I can only find the newer version list.
For $25 I'm willing to gamble that its compatible with my system and I can integrate it into homeassistant. For it's RRP, maybe not.
Oh nice. Thank you for that!
Dang - its just a wifi infrared thing… Wanted this unit at the same price - https://www.sparkydirect.com.au/p/fujitsu-uty-nxt-box-lifest…. Its a generic ESP32 inside so might try DIY it..
This sounds promising if you can get Esphome on there. I am not keen on the infrared thing either. Have you ordered https://www.sparkydirect.com.au/p/fujitsu-uty-nxt-box-lifest…?
No, way too expensive. Was thinking I could just make my own. Have a few items in my cart at Core Electronics to grab when I'm back from holiday.
Does this device "remember" on/off and temperature states?? Am keen to know if this offers additional benefits over a generic IR blaster such as the Broadlink RM4. Thanks!
Keen to know this as well. Otherwise RRP is just a joke.
I reckon it's just a generic IR blaster
It’s just a branded Sensibo IR Blaster. Even the new V2 I have is a Fujitsu-branded Sensibo
This is a screenshot of app loading screen as proof.
https://imgur.com/a/pzcrqx0Works very well. Stable and responsive. Better than the Rinnai wifi app imo.
Can this work with the Sensibo app? Or is it locked to the Fujitsu App?
I'd like to use it with a Panasonic air con
@gummibear: I’m not sure. I can’t see why not as you can see in the screenshot previously, the app certainly looks the same.. Maybe give Fujitsu General a buzz.
Keen to know this too
Yes, state is kept in the app. I think there is also a status light on top that is lit white while aircon running but I've not tested exhaustively. The light can get out of sync if you then turn AC off with regular remote.
The way that many aircon remotes work is to transmit the full settings everytime. ie on/cool/24degrees/fan:low. Rather than just the setting that changes. This means that if the app is out of sync, just changing a single setting will override everything.
There ebay has them as well for $6 postage
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/154412596071?_skw=IS-IR-WIFI-FG&…Found this: Compatible with Fujitsu General models that have a UART port. A licensed installer & additional cable will be required for all installations.
How do you find where the UART port is?
UART port is only for the nxt unit commented above.
The adapter in original post is infrared. I've set mine up on a shelf on the opposite wall, working well
Wish there was one this price for Mitsubishi Heavy Industries
https://github.com/ginkage/MHI-AC-Ctrl-ESPHome
I put these on all my MHI splits, cost less than $10 each to make and makes it home assistant native!
Incredible, thanks for the heads up on this. Before I go down this rabbit hole a second time (this one was a failure and didn't work), is this confirmed to work with Avanti AC's?
Following this thread with interest. I also would like to know.
Don't the Avanti ones have wifi installed already? 50% chance there's already an esp32 tucked inside, 50% chance there's no CN105 port on it.
If you want to waste your time, call up Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Australia and try and ask them a slightly technical question. My conversation with their "technical expert" successfully turned me off from buying 3 more MHI splits last year. He got angry at me when I tried to explain to him what Home Assistant was lmao
@Ezekiel2320: I've got the CNS port, but is there supposed to be ESP32 connected to it?
Has anyone bought and managed to install this? I can't get past add device as if you connect to the device wifi then it cant complete registration with no internet connection. Piece of shit UX
Finally got it working. Quite a doozy
How did you get it working?
I just went through the pain of setting this up.
- Download the myanywair app with the red icon
- Sign up
- If you have signed in, LOG OUT. This is the dumb thing that got it going.
- Before you start, you do not actually need to connect to the Wi-Fi network that the device broadcasts. Just stay on your home Wi-Fi or cellular.
- On the sign in screen hit the 'device configuration' button
- Tap 'Start'
- Select your device
- Tap 'Automatic'
- Select your home Wi-Fi network and enter the password
- The blinking light dance will go on for about 5 mins
- Once configured (light has turned off) you can then sign into the app again
- Tap 'Add device' in the app
- Enter the code that was in the box on the sticker. There is a barcode scanning option but I found this didn't scan the barcode properly so maybe just manually type it in
- You can rename the device with the 3 dots menu in the top right
- Go back and you should see the device on the home screen of the app
- Follow the IR learning steps in the manual. I had to do this twice before I saw the green light.
- Once the IR learning finishes with the blinking green light, just wait a while and it will eventually turn your air conditioner on and off
- That is all
@rad000: Great detail.
There are 4 steps and after going through them, the instruction booklet did outline them.
- install and run app; device config to connect adapter to wifi (do not login/register yet)
- remote learning (done on device)
- register/login to app
- add device to your app
Overall this is good value and I would recommend.
Notes from my experience…
- It can receive the commands from your remote and stay in sync! If you put it near the aircon so your remote points towards both the aircon and the device
- Manual download is hit and miss, this guide has more info: https://www.fujitsu-general.com/us/resources/pdf/support/dow… including crucially the point above. I hadn't seen that elsewhere.
- It uses a DC plug 5.5mm x 2.1mm 5v 0.25a so good candidate for USB - dc jack cable to give power flexibility.
- smaller than I expected
- compatible units list: https://issuu.com/fujitsugeneral.australia/docs/anywair-tech… (thanks ekytjhin)
Negative
a. Different app to the newer nxt anywair which means my new and old fujitsu aircons have different apps to work
b. installation a bit fiddly, see rad000's notes aboveAny attempt and any lack to add it to Home Assistant?
https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/fujitsu_anywair/ - note this is for the device in this thread, IS-IR-WIFI-FG. Newer NXT uses sensibo allegedly
Thanks.
Any luck setting it up?
@Bruceflix: Took a couple of weeks but finally found the solution.
Install this integration https://github.com/jnimmo/hass-intesishomeAnd for the login/password it should be admin admin as it's using the web interface on port 80
@Freyloda: You are a legend. I had almost given up on finding a solution.
