For an extra $11 there's also the BC8 bundle which will charge NiMH too.

    • Its $25

  • Not expired? I can still see it

  • I dont know much about rechargeable batteries but are interested… what makes these good? battery capacity?

Mainly need them for kids toys… expecially those race car tracks which suck power like crazt

    • The Li ion batteries can maintain their 1.5V supply longer than a NiMH which can only supply the higher 1.5-ish V for a shorter duration before going down to 1.2V (which is why the NiMH is advertised as 1.2V batteries).

The downside is the Li ion batteries cannot supply enough power for high draw applications, such as camera flashes and is double the price of NiMH.

I am pretty sure race car tracks require the higher 1.5V to be supplied constantly, so this battery should do the trick. I am in the same boat with my camera, which keeps on triggering a low battery status with NiMH batteries and even some alkaline ones.

      • It's interesting as Li-ion is usually 3.7v, so these must have a regulator to maintain 1.5v output.

Yes, there's a PCB with a chip that handles both the charging and buck-converting during discharge. If you want to see how it works, I tore one cell down in a review:

@luigough: Wow, you're on OzB! I've been following your teardowns for years. Thanks for the great content!

            • @eug: Um. Well, I have been lurking a lot and decided to make a few replies here and there in the spirit of giving back :)

The OzB habit has both cost me a lot, and saved me a lot, so I suppose it's only right to poke my head in occasionally and say "Hi".

            @luigough: Awesome review!!!! Thank you

  • am confused. They are supplying 1.5v rechargeable batteries with a charger that cannot charge 1.5v ?!

    • Yeah, dunno if OP is a bot or marketer because the description is out of whack. But they meant these links when they said they can't charge 1.5V:

      """

      • This seems so confusing.
What on earth these are pictured with 1.5v batteries.

        • The batteries in this deal are 1.5v Li ion instead of 1.2v nimh ones like the eneloop batteries. You cant use the same charger for both of these batteries unliss specified.

      • I get it now, He means this one cant charge 1.5v

  • What a confusing post..

    • I wouldnt recommend the $76 or the $47 ones, it can only charge 1.2v batteries and the way the batteries sit is crap.
