Total Tools Price Match Guarantee Always Gets Declined

Has anyone successfully had an item price matched by Total Tools? I’ve tried numerous times over the years, and each time it gets declined for a variety of reasons. Mostly recently I tried to get them to price match Tool Kit Depot and they said the price was too low for them to match. 6 months earlier I tried to get them to price match Sydney Tools and they claimed the tool was an import.

With the data breach and their slightly higher prices than other tool stores, I’ve reached the point where the loyalty bonus of shopping with them is not worth the extra dollars I am parting with.

Not sure why you're getting uppity about it.

You can't force Total Tools to do anything, the only thing you can do is vote with your wallet. If their business model, policies, range, service…etc. doesn't work for you, then shop elsewhere that offers you want you want.

I agree. The data breach is reason enough to shop elsewhere.
Also email them and get in writing they will remove all traces of any of your data if you want to cancel an account. cc in the ACCC.

They didn't honour their price match TCs when I tried. Not sure of the legalities but it's pretty dog just making up rules to ensure you don't have to actually price match.

Most of it is just for marketing and signalling. Making people believe it means they already do the job for you and you get the equal to lowest price.

Only when people try get it they start talking rubbish like there is a "/" in the SKU so it isn't the same or it must be an import rather than local authorised stock.

We OBers should always support the business offering the lowest price!

Yes I priced matched a Mikita blower with total tools. I rang up and gave the site address. They checked and told me no issue. I asked for a name and picked up with in 10 mins.

Why not support the business that's gone to the effort of being cheaper in the first place?

    • 👆 particularly after being shafted by total tools.

    • Sometimes said business is much further and paying for shipping isn't in the ozb spirit.

Price matches need to include the shipping component. If you don't want to wait for shipping then pay the higher price and consider it a convenience fee.

    Company name checks out.

    • I must have missed the bit in their name where it said f/wits.

"tried to get them to price match Sydney Tools and they claimed the tool was an import."
What tools at any of these shops aren't imports?
