  These are useless in sydney hot weather. Tried using a larger one in the shade and all it did was blow hot wind like a hairdryer making me sweat more

      Maybe your use case and experience is different to others. I'm sure no one expects it to blow cool air, it will only blow whatever the ambient air temperature is. Perhaps some people use these fans inside the house on a desk etc.
      My daughters actually use these fans to cool their food at the dinner table haha.

        Yes mini fans are good for cooling hot food for the kids. But I wouldn't really expect them to do much else.
