        Disappointment comes because I was told something different and thus expected something different. If I were not told about civ 6, I would not be disappointed at all.

    Its dissappointing with all the build up to a Christmas giveway, only for it to be a game they gave away twice before.

    Interestingly though, it is DRM free as it can be run directly from the executable.

    I saw this and thought "awesome! I've been meaning to play Control for ages. I'll grab this! " Then realized it has been sitting in my purchased games list for 2 years already. Am now likely not to play it

    Logged in disappointed to see the Civ VI freebie didn't eventuate…..jumped onto Steam and somehow I already own Civ VI Platinum 😂

      Technically Civ 6 was a recycled freebie, as the base game was given away on Epic in 2020.

    Just a heads up that this is the normal edition and not the Ultimate Edition.

    I'm not sure if they have patched it or not but previously the normal edition was abandoned on an earlier version of the game and all the fixes and improvements from that point were only applied to the ultimate edition.

    If you start playing it and enjoy it I'd recommended stopping and finding the ultimate edition on sale then playing that one.

    Buying the DLCs or the season pass onto the standard edition doesn't upgrade you to the ultimate edition either.
