Friendly reminder that the HN gift card has an expiry of ONE MONTH. "This Promotion is a temporary marketing promotion and the Bonus Gift Card will expire 1 month from the date of issue.".

  • I bought the non I-DOS version a few years back, we use different liquids for different colours and so the I-DOS makes that a lot more difficult despite the appealing feature of using less detergent. Overall has been a great washing machine.

    • Curious to know, how long are the cycle times for a speed perfect and normal wash?

      • Easy care is 1:06hr, Cottons is 59 mins.

        • The cotton is for half load only. Full load of 9kg is 2.5 hours +

We bought the iDOS when it came out and I love I can just dump what feels like 500-1000ml of laundry liquid (Aldi one works great) in at a time and not worry for ages. We use it almost daily. The door seal has to be replaced under warranty. Other than that, it’s been pretty good. We gave up on fabric softeners years ago so don’t use that compartment.

Colours running used to be a much bigger problem than it is now. Separating laundry was drummed into our heads. Modern dyes don't bleed like they used to. I've been washing everything together for years, and all my whites are still bright white.

I wash towels and bed sheets separately for lint reasons.
If you have a new bright piece of clothing, do a test rinse to confirm it won't run (it won't). Beyond that, separation of colours is a waste of time nowadays, it's no longer relevant.

      • That clearly works for you. A google search returns hundreds of articles that talk about how to prevent clothes from fading and one of the key steps is using the correct detergent and washing as low temperature as possible. Hence I am happy to stick to my current process which works and has excellent results.

        • This is good to know after buying several pairs of bright terracotta orange chino pants from target at much reduced prices .
Well made and comfortable fit but it’s been three years of wearing them around the house, washing, drying and trying to sun fade.
I live in a fairly working class area , so anything different (like colours that are not blue or black for a bloke) are frowned upon .
Only lost one pair to the grease monster that is my truck so far.
Almost ready to go to the shops without being laughed at.
Totally worth the saving of couple of hundred buck and not just wasting my life being a TA ,
Saving money in my sleep, it’s a lifestyle choice right??

Made the conscious choice not to go get a cheap ham on boxing because some family might really need it to feed the fam , so I’m in control of it, and now I can watch the smith family foundation ads with the kids with no shoes at school and know I’m doing my bit .
I get points for that right , that lessens all the negative points I have accrued for screaming at people in traffic.
For at the Pearly Gates when you meet St. Peter ,
I can say well I definitely didn’t buy that ham ..

    • Manual dosing is easy, on my i-dos washer at least

So although i-dos wouldn’t be worthwhile $ for you, at least it wouldn’t make things more difficult. Or maybe you’d have a ‘most common’ liquid to put in the auto dosing bucket and use the manual dosing hole when you want to go to that effort

Why not get an I-Win version?

I'm wondering if I can still do a seperate wash with the Bowden's microfiber wash liquid when doing my car detailing microfiber cloths and such, or if it only doses from the washing liquid dosing compartment
    (Cold power)

    • I have the FP one and you can choose if you dose, fab softener, detergent or both. I wonder if you could set up softener to be the other liquid or if it would be a timing thing of when it is deployed.

    • Yes you can dose Bowdens manually as required. Turn the I-dos off for that wash and add Bowdens to the normal soap compartment in the drawer. Or just add directly to the wash before closing the door. We absolutely love ours

How are these for washing 3 bedsheets + doona covers + pillow cases at the same time? Have a 10kg top loader now no agitator and works fine.

    • 3 king sized bed sheet? You might have to run 2 rounds due to space constraint than weight.

      • I've noticed that most front loaders look like they have less space than a top loader. Is that the case?

We have an i-dos unit. The dispenser has been replaced twice would avoid it as the connectors corrode over time. Its the weakest link of an otherwise great unit

    • Thanks. Solving problems that barely exist as usual.

  • Anyone know how long it takes to receive the gift card?

  • Got the same washing machien but use pods anyway so iDOS bit useless for us. Happy with it so far.
