In 2016, Harvey expressed contempt for what he saw as political uncertainty … and said the only solution is "to have a dictator like in China".

And he slurred OzBargainers as "professionals" implying we aren't real customers but swindlers.

Unhappy Harvey Norman customers say its online store reneged on a Boxing Day deal after a website bungle that could have cost the retailer close to $770,000.
Harvey Norman chief Gerry Harvey said a mistake occurred when uploading the sale price of an Asus tablet, which retails for about $800.

It was supposed to be discounted to about $600 but instead was listed as $122, the amount of the discount.

"It went up as a mistake around midnight and by 4am our people were alerted to it," Mr Harvey said.

But not before about 300 people snapped up 1600 of the bargain tablets, according to Mr Harvey, who said it was the work of professionals, not everyday consumers.

"It was obviously a mistake and they knew it," he said.

Mukul Singh and many consumer forum members said they had bought the Asus tablets in good faith.

The ACCC watchdog would not comment.

Don't forget we pay more now for overseas items because of him. That he profited during COVID-19 from tax payers through JobKeeper ($22m) before being pressured to pay back only $6m.

And a 1 month expiry on the GC is a joke.

    Don't shop at Harvey Norman.

      You seem salty.

Unless the product you are after ends up being really really cheap at Harvey Norman. Then everyone stops being high and mighty all of a sudden.

    • Having seen the pack mentality around a price error deal posting, I'd tend to agree we are professionals (and proud of it).

      • Yeah, I’m not sure what OP is getting at here. Firstly, we’re far better informed than the average consumer here. And 1600 tablets ordered between 300 users implies there will be an awful lot of reselling going on. Kinda sounds like professionals to me….

Yup, don't get me wrong Harvey is a scumbag millionaire who profited from Australian taxpayers, but reneging on an obvious price error is hardly newsworthy. We don't all abandon Dell for those who didn't find Muzeeb, only entitled whingers complain about price errors not being honoured, it happens all the time on here from a great variety of retailers, bank the price error and be happy if it works out, and if it's cancelled (which is completely legal by the seller), move on and say oh well worth a try…
