          • @hikaru78: This is the one I ended up using, very simple and no pop ups. The other would not let me do much unless I paid-up. Then Inhas issues uninstalling it

  • Something interesting I have found is when plugging in my Logitech K400r to USB I couldn't control anything but Ctrl+Alt+Del resets the board.
If it accepts this command surely it can be modified to accept others.

  • damn waited too long, just got call no more stock after ordered.

    • The guy at bankstowm told me they ordered 20 from warehouse and as soon as they hit the store , the sold out within hours

    • confused, after they called "will refund" now got "order shipped" email, hope still lucky.

      • So you will get it for free

        • no luck, cancelled & refunded. chatted online only available in store - Wollongong !
          give up this run…

  • Has anyone got a guide on the easiest way to get all the games on the sdcard?

    • The unit as quoted by other purchasers, there is noticeable latency delay in the joystick and buttons response so reaching higher levels in games will be impossible.

  • Everyone should do the USB mod, you dont lose anything, you actually gain an extra feature(standalone controller), after doing the cable mod you can just plug it into the back usb port and it works just as you would plug it into the PC, and the system works normal as if you didnt do anything.
BTW, i got the 1619 games on my SD card(dont know if it works on the others, but it should its just usb)

    • Can confirm the SD card images work across all units. Mine came with the 157 game card and it booted fine with the other 1619 game card.

    • I hope someone share this idea with step by step guide with photos.
It's hard to understand for beginer with github explaination. :(

Hi @solpiry, If you haven't seen it already, please check out Hello-dot-Jpg's work in progress write up here

        • I didn't see this before. I will follow the steps later.
          Thank you.

          • @solpiry: Heres my quick and easy way, you just need 1 usb cable
            https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-cugq3FSK9G3sqD8aDXFlzAVFQa…
            https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-du2IKW_ivCmbzcuu06UpxCTIuA…
and just plug the other end to the back of the unit.

            • @YeahBabi: Thanks for sharing but i'm a bit confused. Your one is connecting with computer via hdmi?

              • @solpiry: No, all I done was cut the cable between the 2 pcb's, then solder a usb cable to the joystick pcb.
Then just plug the male end of the cable to the back of the unit usb socket and use it normally.
No connection to pc, just boot the unit up and enjoy.

If you want to use the controller for the pc, just disconnect the USB cable from the back of the unit and plug it into the pc,dont need to plug anything else in, so disconnect the power and disconnect the hdmi and just use it as a wired joystick.

                I hope that's more clear.

                • @YeahBabi: I understand now.
                  Thank you for further explanation.

                • @YeahBabi: What is the purpose of connecting it to a PC? Isn’t the USB port used to connect to a USB game controller?

            • @YeahBabi: Nice one YeahBabi. Do you mind if I add those pictures to my repo? maybe somewhere on this page?https://github.com/nk64/GT4286/blob/main/Hardware%20Modifications.md

              • @nk64: that would be great, happy to help.

  • Has anybody been able to figure out what firmware this runs seeing it's hidden/blank in the firmware menu?

I'm still on the hunt for a compatible SD card image which hasn't been modified from one of the three stock SD cards that come with these units and in the hope we can change some more game settings (besides the controller button layout).

Some research on other cheap arcade sticks released around the same time has led me to believe the OS is based on similar to those released by manufacturers named "SEGAM" and "ANDOWL" (there could be more but these have almost identical menus). These companies also released some Android game sticks also which plug directly into HDMI and operate via wireless controllers. I've tried SD card image back-ups on Internet Archive of some of the machines but could get none to boot. Nothing but black screen and no Android logo.

      Hi cheepo,

Please check out my GitHub repository dedicated to this system.

We have yet to find an existing system (which has any sort of community behind it) that is compatible with this one, but I don't want that to discourage you from searching and testing yourself and sharing your results (because it is kind of the holy grail).

Please read through the discussion section as well so you don't have to re-investigate the wheel.

Also, earlier in this OzBargain thread (and in the discussions on GitHub) you can find a reference to the fact that the GT4286 1619 Game SD Card is available on Archive.org.

      Cheers.

      • Great work on all the work you and those contributing have made to the GitHub and discussion page.

I've already downloaded and tested the image available on Archive.org you mentioned. Good call-out for anybody that missed it. We now need somebody willing to share their custom kick-ass image that works on this machine but I'll continue to test back a few more random images from those obscure consoles and report back if there is any breakthrough.

  • Anyone wants to resell 1 to me? I am in Melbourne

    • There are some on eBay for sale at Jaycar $49 plus $8 shipping more than 10 available at Sydney warehouse
      12/1/25 time 22:30 hours.

Please note this unit has a weak processor and there is latency lag issues with joysticks and buttons so reaching higher stages is impossible but a bargain no doubt.

A raspberry pi 5 is 10 times better and can play games properly reaching higher levels.

Is it just me because I haven’t noticed any lag. Maybe some games aren’t as smooth but it’s definitely playable.

        • It’s a bargain no doubt
Try playing space invaders type game from Atari etc and there is noticeable delay when you press to fire.
Basic older style games are smooth but this does not have the grunt to play N64, PS1 etc and it’s about latency delay a slow processor inside this unit but there are many alternative projects you can use this for modding like a USB joystick for PC or other projects in the forums on the web.

          • @Jerrycan: I’m hoping the dedicated github repos will one day find a solution to enable dual controllers on the usb port 🤞

          • @Jerrycan: You might like to try overclocking it. (no warranties express or implied)
